I found these on the net, along with some ways to "jam" the Echleon system...heh. Why is this of interest? Well, because a lot of these look like Codenames/organizations or something...just take a look... I can't atest to the validity of it all, but I myself trust it.

The last "Jam Echelon Day" was 10/21/01 ... nothing organized for '02 or '03.

I agree, some of the words on that list are quite...well...stupid. However it's the authentic ones (or the ones that look authentic) that are really interesting.
Suprisingly enough, a simple Google search for the term "NSA Echelon" will bring up tons of sites concerning keywords. This particular source was
Link I'm sure the words on each list vary slightly. But in my humble opinion I would have to say that every list of Echelon keywords circulating on the net comes from a primary source which was either hacked or more likely leaked.

As for the question "How can it be jammed?"

"The basic premise behind Jam Echelon Day is that the system records every message with certain keywords. But why be limited by that? A subscriber to the Hope 2000 Mailing List (for the H2k conference in New York City next year) pointed out that it would be a trivial matter to add an operation that excludes messages with too many code words.

There seem to be two main goals of Jam Echelon Day -- to raise public awareness of a possible invasion of privacy and to defeat that invasion of privacy. With the public awareness coming into place, now we have to wonder whether the day will actually work."
Jam Echelon

Here is a shorter list of keywords that are more likey to be valid: FBI CIA NSA IRS ATF BATF DOD WACO RUBY RIDGE OKC OKLAHOMA CITY MILITIA GUN HANDGUN MILGOV ASSAULT RIFLE TERRORISM BOMB DRUG HORIUCHI KORESH DAVIDIAN KAHL POSSE COMITATUS RANDY WEAVER VICKIE WEAVER SPECIAL FORCES LINDA

REVOLUTION CHEROKEE HILLARY BILL CLINTON GORE
GEORGE BUSH WACKENHUT TERRORIST TASK FORCE
160 SPECIAL OPS 12TH GROUP 5TH GROUP SF

The source of this list also claims that the Echelon system has a UK equivalent, "The Government Communications Headquarters" and also claims that Australia has a large involvement with Echelon. Any Australians know if that's true?

Hope this feeds your brain a while.
