Just imagine being rendered the rough equivalent of a radio-controlled toy car.
Nippon Telegraph & Telephone Corp., Japans top telephone company, says it is developing the technology to perhaps make video games more realistic. But more sinister applications also come to mind.

I can envision it being added to militaries' arsenals of so-called "non-lethal'' weapons

That is one scary technology, especially because it looks like you don't actually have to implant the person to be controlled at all, you just have to be in their immediate vicinity. I wonder if there's a way to resist the attempts somehow; for example, the reporter mentioned being erroneously convinced at one point that walking to the right would maintain his balance. Maybe this feeling can be ignored with practice or willpower? If not, well, there may be a surge in the tinfoil hat industry...
