When my eyes are closed and when I’m going to sleep I see "energy". I really don't know how to explain it. I see a pulse and then a couple of sparkles. The colors and like purple and pink. Does anyone else experience this and can tell me what it is?

I think I've been experiencing the same thing. As far as I know, it is energy. The colors should be the colors of your aura and since you have your eyes closed, it sounds like you percieve it through your 3rd eye (like your 3rd eye is opening). But don't worry, it isn't anything bad.
Well, it can be explained in many ways but this is what it seems like to me and what I think is the most probable. Hope it helps.

It could also be like when you were a kid, when you would rub your eyes real hard and it was like "playing video games" . (some comedian talked about this once). Go ahead and try it out, keep your eyes shut and rub your eyes for about 10 seconds, ill bet you see colors

I've always had that. Usually I'll have two tunnels of green while my eyes are closed for a while. Since eyes are used for seeing light the idea of this being some form of energy had never occurred to me.

Thanks for the replies. Another weird thing that I see is when i'm driving. On the road I see energy too. I can't really describe it. It is like a vapor or something. It is allways grey though

I believe what you are seeing is called residual image. When you look at stuff, it kind of stays burnt into your eyes and memory for about 20 minutes. It especially happens after spending a lot of time watching TV or at the computer. You may see flashes of light and colour, or even say you were watching a football game, you may continue to see a football game unfold in your head for quite a while until this sort of thing fades away.

I have the same effect..

it's and energy that goes from the egde of my "vision" in a circle towards the center.. Into the middle... And it just continues on and on (hehe)

I guess we all have that malfunction..

Yep , I am experiencing that too , first I thought it was lights from outside my window , but I guess I was wrong when I turned myself over facing the wall and the colours/energy would not go away

Your eyes like to play trickes on you...like when you look at a picture of a bunch of black squares and you kind of see grey squares in the intersections, even though it's really white. Or there was that email going around of black splotches that you stare at for 30 seconds, then close your eyes and it looks like a jesus.

I'm also on the "not-energy" bandwagon.

Does not the photoreceptors (rods and cones) of the eye go crazy when you close your eyes? That would explain colours and patterns. They're bored. Now if you truly think this unusual of the normal colours, lights and patterns then you've got me. But I've seen some pretty unusual things myself when I've closed my eyes in all sorts of conscience states. Keep looking for the answer, it could be something or it could be nothing. What makes you believe this an energy? Does it feel external or internal?

This is certainly true and may be the case; the same with 'ghost images' or retinal burn.

Auras are certainly an established phenomena, even if its simply a bioelectrical field.

I do suggest that you see an eye doctor. Not to be flip, but there are some medical conditions that can cause the phenomena, not the least common being a retinal tear.

Not saying that you have no valid statements - please don't misunderstand - but you only have two eyes.

Well it could be that but there is one more thing that happens. It last for a long time if I sit really still. If I open my eyes it's still their until I stop focusing on it. It pulses the best way I can describe it. I could be in semi or complete darkness and I see some pretty amazing colors. If I lie down and do it images start to flash before my eyes. I have been practicing trying to see aura’s for about 3 years now and it’s made my eyes pretty sensitive now. I can see a faint glow around birds in the sky. If I stare at the sky an energy pulse starts to appear. This is especially vivid when I’m driving. The weird thing is that it’s pretty hard for me to see aura on people but animals and trees it’s no problem. When I wake up in the morning I can see waves coming from the landscape of trees. I’m not ruling out my mind playing tricks on me but it’s still cool none the less.

I can see auras. I think. It's hard being a skeptic and then catching myself off guard by seeing things. Try looking at somebody, someone you live with or whatever. Preferably against a plain, bland coloured wall or object. Focus on their profile, bare arms work best, over clothes is harder but not by much. Just look, don't strain your eyes at all. And just see what happens. I see faint colours fading away from people for barely half an inch. The colours are always one consistant faint colour. Anyway the only explaination I can think of is that with my open mind, I can see auras. I've been told I could get into psychic work before by other psychics but the problem is that I half believe psychics are fake. So I would never take that advice seriously. I've had other experiences that are harder to accept then just seeing lame auras. Try it anyways it could be interesting, then just look up aura colours online or whatever like I do. It's neat but by choice I rarely talk about seeing auras with others. I'd like to know what happens if and when you try it. Enjoy.

Seeing Aura is a very special gift that anyone can obtain. I think it depends on your intentions. It is interesting that you said try it with someone you live with. A child works best because they are not fully corrupted by this world yet

Yeah when Im driving in the car with my mom I see this little grey vapors theyre like really tiny and if I focus on them they jump up then fall down eventually they go away though. Also when I close my eyes I see all kinds of vibrant colors in different shapes and forms and if I focus on themthey fade away. But the colors are always there theyre not distracting or anything its just really weird I though I was seeing energy too but Im not sure what it is.

Those vapors you see when driving, Im not exactly sure what they are but on occassion i can see them too... I think they are reflections of light from some kind of particles in the air. And Im also assuming that they jump when you look directly at one because they are seen in the perefrial (whatever) vision, or in blurred areas. But i dont know why you only be able to see them when in the car, if youre driving it may be because you are focusing of the road, or objects not directly in front of you and allowing the space nearer to you become blurred. I dont know, but i like to play with em, cus they jump around.

As long as you keep your eyes on the road when you're driving there shouldn't be a problem, lol

But as Yarcofin explained about residual energy, I'm one for that.

I also know exactly what you're talking about. I can't exactly describe it either, but when you say in a dark room, I have that too. I can lie there in darkness and see the same thing.
Although I think it's possibly something to do with the Cranial nerves (there's 12 of them, and 3 specialise for the eyes; Oculomotor nerve, Trochlear nerve, Abducens nerve - all to do with eye movement).
My guess is the face that as soon as you lie down in a dark room, these nerves are still overactive, possibly sending messages to your eyes and causing us to see these images.
(I've noticed that when I move my eyes, the shapes/colours follow).

Maybe that might be something to do with it.

As for seeing these during daylight hours, I'm not sure ow to explain that. Going to look into this a little more, might be able to find something out

Good luck for your hunt for answers

I have a ipod touch and I have a game on there thats is shapes you match 3 in a line , I can see them vividly even 15 mins after I've put the game down after playing for 5 mins.
Talk about residual image , why ain't it like that when I peruse 'gentlemans reading materials'?.

I sometimes get a 'flash of energy' across my vision as well though being serious for a minute. I just chalk it up to the 'floaters' in my eye juice...

I put my money on hypnagogic images. I know hat you see because I have seen electric colours like blue emerge and wane and emerge and wane and so on. I like the show!
