(UPI) -- Palestinian Agriculture Minister Waleed Abed Rabboh says Israel has blocked the shipment into the West Bank of material needed to test
for bird flu.
The Palestinian News Agency, WAFA, quoted Abed Rabboh as saying Thursday the ministry has taken preventive measures to guard against the spread of
bird flu, such as banning the import of birds and poultry products.
He said Israel is preventing his ministry from acquiring key material needed to test for the disease.
"Such act is very unfortunate because the disease does not take into consideration political crises and international disputes ... It is in the
interest of both Israel and the Palestinians to combat it by all means," Abed Rabboh said.
