I have just looked throught the research thread and the posts of john titor and I am very disturbed to find more discussion of the technological aspects than anything else.
I suppose you can't "research" humanity much, however I felt a strong sense the message he was trying to get through was not absorbed by many.
We need to wake up and change our ways as a society.
We need to start caring for our own.
Stop focusing on material things.
Pay attention to our world leaders actions.
I think he was right.

Perhaps I should let you all in on a little secret. No one likes you in the future. This time period is looked at as being full of lazy, self-centered, civically ignorant sheep. Perhaps you should be less concerned about me and more concerned about that.

You are correct in that aspect. However, at this point, it is still much in the research phase, and in that, the technical aspects are going to be big.

There will, I am sure (and I really HOPE), be a lot of other stuff like the "humanity" side covered in the research of John Titor, because, as you say, he has a very good point weather he was real or a hoax.

I think it's BS!
Seems like a spook project to me to gauge people's reactions to certain possible future events.
Does anyone know if that machine actually does anything?
The story about the IBM 5100 computer sounds bogus to me too, they can make a time machine but have to come back for 60s and 70s LSI gating technology?
How about the guy seems sympathetic to the Russians for some reason even though they nuked the hell out of US?
He never explains the true nature of the supposed civil war in the US as though it isn't important.
He thinks that living in a socialistic future that is poisoned beyond belief is better than what we have now?
What a looney toones!

I feel John Titor is a hoax too, I've read other forums and sites which have his quotes... I don't have them book marked but he contradicts himself more than once.

just my 2 coppers

PS: I could be proved wrong. Just stating my opinon.

It was the human aspect that drew me into JT's postings in the beginning. Regardless if he's a hoax or not, he has brought awareness to issues where there seems to be very little.

While JT has hit the nail on the proverbial head, his ghostwriter, be it a hoax, is most likely a megalomaniac and a hypocrite by most measures. As far as effectiveness...are any more people likely to vote because of JT? Probably not.

Are JT's followers likely to switch to a vegan diet? Probably not.

Are JT's followers likely to start riding bike? Probably not.

Are JT's followers likely to purchase more guns...? Maybe.

Granted, some will take his message to heart, hoax or not. In the minimum, the phenomen needs to be documented. If you feel strongly about certain parts of the JT phenomen, please U2U me. We have open slots for commentary.

Okay I think this needs some serious looking into given that we assume for the moment that he is legit... the way he said this.. " What amazes me is why no one here wonders why Y2K didn't hit them at all? "... leads me to think he is throwing us a bone here, and it deserves some serious consideration.

Evidence seems to point to JT story maybe an elaborate hoax, just check out Pamelas latest postings on Anomalies.net, remeber it is still uncertain (deny ignorance). But there are things that still need to be addressed, you cannot say that the JT story wasn't interesting.

Currently I'm looking into the technical side, and hopefully some success will come from it. But there are still many angles to look at, like the humanity side.

These in time will be scrutinised like all sides. Believe me. Remember the project is in early days.
All comments on the project would be greatly appreciated as I am sure my colleague Kukla will agree.

(Wow, been in the project for 24 hours and I feel like a scholar already
*walk off screen* )

Kukla- I've made a quick start on my draft, I've added 300 words already and hoping to get 600 in tomorrow but I've still got research to do.

Uhmm....these time traveller stories are getting to be a dime a dozen...

They pop up from time to time on the internet. This is one of the more well thought out ones I've seen, but alas, it has it's problems as well...

I did some initial research, and even found the premise of the IBM machine reason refuted by a programmer...

Hoax, Hoax, Hoax.....

i believe that we as beings of light can focus on more interesting research projects...
instead of being given some knowledge and atempting to assimulate it like the borg..

i am a being not a cog...

...... and I bet noone replying to this thread had looked through the catalog for statements refuting their points. Sheesh.

If you have a solid point, note what foot notes are relevant, what he fails to account for and why and write it up. Simple. Check out the JT thread for links to the catalog.
