It is hardly a "quagmire", what with all the new infrastructure being built and improved. More electricity, more clean water, more medical facilities and medical personnel, and personal freedoms never before known in Iraq.

That has nothing to do with anything.
And if infrastructure didn't get destroyed in the first place, there wouldn't be any need to replace it...

Haha. Funny.

Saddam didn't fix a lot of infastructure that was destroyed in the Iran - Iraq war. We did.

I was there.

Educate yourself son.

"democracy" and "liberation" seem to be a popular words for colonization these days

Totiltarianism, Communism, Socialism?

Got a better plan?

Obviously democracies work; these are the countries "colonizing" others.

People need to grow a back bone, then maybe we wouldn't have to step in.
Know what I would do to someone if they tried to beat the soles of my feet with a stick? The county courthouse would be in flames.

If you fixed it, why did it had to be rebuilt again?

Yea, I think it's time to stage a victory photo-op on an aircraft carrier with a "Mission Accomplished" banner in the background.

Oops. I forgot...

Lets not forget that even after the Allies took Berlin, there were "insurgent" like activities going on.

I had to note this: this is just more self-deluding revisionism propagated by Rumsfeld and the right-wing blogosphere. In fact, the planned "Werwolf" anti-occupation guerilla war amounted to almost nothing, with a grand total of 0 US soldiers killed by enemy forces after the German surrender. Zero, zip, zilch, nada, none...

They managed to kill some civilians in Allied-occupied German territory before the war ended, but ceased to exist shortly after the surrender. They were in no way, shape or form comparable to the insurgency in Iraq, which has killed far more US forces than the war itself did.
