Holly Thacker was jailed for six weeks in Britain yesterday for Boiling "Fluffy" the family cat in a washing machine. It is believed Fluffy was
murdered after it scratched the woman who placed the cat in the washing machine and set the dial at 90 degrees celcius. The act was carried out in
front of her two children aged 5 and 15 years and the cat took five to ten minutes to die. Fluffy struggled and broke it's claws in the effort to
escape
www.news.com.au
Prosecutor Jonathan Eales told the court that Thacker's ex-husband alerted the national animal protection society, the RSPCA, following a
conversation with her at her home on November 7.
"A conversation took place in which she said: 'I haven't got my cat any more'. He said: 'Why?'. She said: 'The cat scratched me so I put it in
the washing machine'," Mr Eales said.
"She then laughed and said: 'I put it on a f...ing boiling wash as well'. She said: 'I am serious. Then I put it in the bin'."
Thacker said she had set the dial at 90 degrees Celsius.
Speaking after the case Mr Melloy said: "In the seven years I have been working for the RSPCA as an animal inspector, I have never come across
anything as heartless as this.

6 weeks? No stick her in a washing machine at 90 degrees celcius and see how she likes it. The bible does say and eye for and eye and this is one
case it seems rather Apt.
This was done in front of children, What lesons is that projecting to the kids. What sort of role model is that.. Violence begets violence.
R.I.P Fluffy...

Disgusting, Britain was once called a nation of animal lovers. In recent years i've found this grossly untrue. My local paper printed a picture of a
dalmation that had been hung from a tree just last week, sickening. I sometimes wonder if humans will be hung from trees next, oops i forgot a five
year old boy was recently hung by a twelve year old girl, luckily he live.

do cats have souls like humans???
so, a doctor can kill a fetus and a lady can kill a cat but the lady goes to jail???
i hate these double standards...

6 weeks and I hope a lot of court ordered therapy. Plus therapy for the kids. How sick can you be -- if I were her kids I wouldn't question
anything she said -- of course that could be just what she was going for. And if I were the attorney I think that is the line I may have taken in this
to get her more jail time and some treatment.

OK, there's something wrong here. Do Oz washing machines come with gradient temp controls? Ours don't. They get fed the water temp from our water
heater. This story stinks imo.

The question is not if the Cat has a soul, but can it suffer?
As long as men massacre animals, they will kill each other. Indeed, he who sows the seeds of murder and pain cannot reap the joy of love.

I hope this lady gets the help she needs. She is obviously not mentally stable.

I just flat out hate animal cruelty like this. Now sure sure, humans first. But there is absolutely no excuse to murder a cat in such a fashion.
Sure would be nice if they'd do the same to her.
I really get the feeling that if one day aliens conquer the world and see what a few of our idiots do to cats, they'll do to the rest of us.

What a horrible act a poor defenseless animal. Im so glad we have animal cruelty laws. I watch that animal cop show and some of the ways people
treat animals just sicken me.
Its sad that Murderers ... very often start out by killing and torturing animals

OK, it wasn't Oz but Jeez, do you guys even read these articles? A washing machine doesn't have a temp control besides cold/warm/hot, regulated by
the cold/hot water intakes. Am I wrong about that?
Next:
"Prosecutor Jonathan Eales told the court that Thacker's ex-husband alerted the national animal protection society, the RSPCA, following a
conversation with her at her home on November 7".
November 7th? That's almost a year ago.
I still think this story stinks.

While I am no cat lover..I do find this a terriable act of senseless cruelty..
Lethy for the record you will be very hard pressed to find a "witch" that will harm a cat, as most Witchs consider them in high regard. Some even
calling them familiers.
Just my 2 cents.

Neither. As I have learned there is no such thing as evil.

Not really, just because one decided to take care of an animail it really still isnt thiers. They develop a bond that makes that animal apart of thier
family.
Ask anyone wit an animal as a family pet they will state exactly what I said there.

Wouldnt you think it would be the same?? Its the same circumstances.. I make someone mad they come after me and kill me.. same situation.

Ya, and you know what else is even better.... Is that these cats have probably an older soul than most humans.. In other words they are more wise than
some new human souls that are here.

Well I really dont have much to say here, exept they are both pretty much the same thing..

That's an evil, disgusting thing to do--especially in front of kids who probably dearly loved the animal. Get her on cruelty to animals charges and
then get her again on child abuse charges.

Yeah you are wrong, most washing machines here have temperature settings.
November 7th? That's almost a year ago.
Courts have a backlog, it takes awhile for a case to reach court, in addition prosecution and defendant are allowed time for building their case.

I'm confused. Was Fluffy male or female.
...he scratched the woman who placed the cat in the washing machine and set the dial at 90 degrees celcius [sic]. The act was carried out in front of
her two children aged 5 and 15 years and the cat took five to ten minutes to die. Fluffy struggled and broke her claws...

There is a more pertinent question, but I will refrain from asking that one.

I'm not "pro-abortion" or anything but I'd say there's a considerable difference between a licensed and trained doctor removing an underdeveloped
fetus from a woman and a woman throwing a cat in a 90 degree wash cycle that takes 10 minutes to kill the animal.
I'm no expert on the subject, but isn't there more evidence to prove that a cat can suffer in such a situation, while a 2 month-old fetus doesn't
feel the pain of being aborted?

Making your kids watch, while you torture to death the family pet says she doesn't give a crap about her kids either. The cat's suffering is over,
but the trauma to the children may manifest into a far worse evil.
