POLITICS: Bomb Blasts Rock Iran - Tehran Accuses Britain of Involvement

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad accused Britain of being behind two weekend bombings which killed four people and wounded at least 86 others at a shopping center in Western Iran. The British Embassy in Iran released a statement condemning the attacks and the accusations. Simultaneously the UK's The Independent has revealed that bomb technology cited as evidence of Iranian support of Iraqi insurgency, was in fact invented by British security services and leaked to the IRA in the 1990's, from where it was passed to Middle Eastern terrorist groups, including some sponsored by Saddam Hussein.



Some tolls place the number of injured at more than 100 for these recent bombings in Iran.

Of interest and possible connection is the fact that the anti-Iranian-government MEK/MKO terrorist organization was taken under the Pentagon's wing during the invasion of Iraq in 2003. And many of those terrorists have been sent back to Iran under an amnesty offered by Tehran early this year. Back then I predicted that this group may be used by Western governments to destabilize the country from within.

It seems that wild accusations are the order of the day from both sides in this ongoing propaganda war between Iran and the UK. President Ahmadinejad was quoted by Middle-East Online as stating, "Iran's security and intelligence officials have come across British footprints" in past attacks in the southwestern oil-rich and ethnic-Arab dominated province of Khuzestan.

Earlier this month, Britain accused Iran of involvement in the Iraqi insurgency via provision of explosive technology to a Shia group in Southern Iraq. Eight British soldiers were killed in an ambush using bombs triggered by infra-red beams. The British government claimed that this technology could only have been passed to insurgents by Iran's Revolutionary Guard or Hezbollah. The Independent has published an article, which cites British security sources, revealing that such technology was leaked to the IRA during failed sting operations in the early 1990's, and that such technology was then passed to multiple groups in the Middle East via the IRA's cooperation with said groups.



I seriously don't know who to believe in this whole fiasco any more - Western governments that have started major wars by outright deception, or Islamic nations that appear to support regiments of suicide bombers.

Im not so sure. Last year or the year before (the date escapes me) an Iranian aircraft went down killing 200 or so. What was not really discussed was it contained a carde of officers of the Revolutionary Guard. The aircraft brokeup in midair and all were killed.

The Revolutionary gurad is what keeps the rulling Mullahs in power. The crash may have been an accident but maybe it was not.

While bombs may be a CIA op, the possibility exists that there are internal forces that are also trying to have an effect on the current government. The Shah's son is still alive and may have asperations on returning someday.

In February 2005, while the neo-cons were rattling the sabers with Iran, a CIA team made contact with Iranians across the northern Afghan border inside Iran. This border area is extremely remote and porous. Afghan Uzbeks loyal to ex-Communist warlord General Abdul Rashid Dostum, whose base of operations is Mazar-e-Sharif, are involved in a number of cross-border operations, including arms and heroin smuggling. It was through this network of Uzbeks and Iranians that the CIA was able to obtain documents on Iran's nuclear program, information that proved that Iran's nuclear capability had still not achieved weapons-grade status. That, of course, is not what the neocons in the Pentagon's Office of Special Plans and a sister unit in the Israeli Prime Minister's Office in Jerusalem wanted to hear.

On February 3, 2005, after having secured sensitive documents on Iran's nuclear program, two CIA agents boarded a Kam Air Boeing 737-200 flight from Herat, near the Iranian border, to Kabul. The agents were anxious to get the documents to Langley. They and the documents never made it.

The Boeing crashed at an altitude of 11,000 feet on the summit of Chaperi Mountain, 20 miles east of Kabul. The plane's 104 passengers and crew, including the two CIA agents, were killed. Although the Pentagon's web site claims the U.S.-led International Security Assistance Force made several attempts to look for survivors by helicopter but that these efforts were unsuccessful. In reality, a Pentagon Strategic Support Branch team did land at the crash site and found the bodies of the two CIA agents and grabbed the Iranian documents and quickly departed before Afghan ground troops appeared on the scene.
