Reading up on current events and through several threads in this forum, I am finding an uncomfortable level of confusion over the car bombings and the use of I.E.D.’s in Iraq.

Normally I am quite skeptical when it comes to conspiracy theories, however there seems to be a pattern of finger pointing when it comes to who is behind some of these attacks.

Is it the insurgents?

Is it a secret combined effort to cause instability and terror in Iraq by US and UK coalition forces?

Is Iran behind these attacks or supplying the technology and/or explosives used?

Some examples from this forum:

Iraqi Army Officer: British Military Involved in Acts of Terrorism

Bombs In Iraq Using Tech Created By UK Security Services, and IRA

And from the News today:

US warns Iran over Iraq bomb attacks: Rice

LONDON (Reuters) - The United States has issued a stern warning to Iran over the Islamic republic's possible involvement in helping insurgent bomb attacks in Iraq, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said on Sunday.

Washington has backed accusations from its closest ally Britain that there is evidence insurgents laying roadside bombs, or improvised explosive devices (IEDs), in southern Iraq might be using sophisticated technology linked to neighboring Iran.

Important quote from the above article:

"We have channels with which to do it. But we use them sternly and pretty specifically to deliver messages."

Her remarks underscore how Britain's accusations have fueled tensions with Iran at a time when London and Washington are seeking U.N. action over Tehran's nuclear program.

There is much more out there if one wants to look for it.

Some of these allegations seem to have evidence to back them up.. however it is much harder to find.

Anyone care to take a shot at trying to explain what the hell is going on here?

It seems that the British have now joined Rice in warning Iran. According to the following breaking news report just in...

US, Britain warn Iran over Iraq bomb attacks

LONDON (Reuters) - The United States and its chief ally Britain have warned Iran over its possible involvement in insurgent bomb attacks in Iraq, top officials said on Sunday.

Iran denies meddling in Iraq and says the accusations against it are psychological warfare tied to efforts by Washington and London to report Tehran to the U.N. Security Council for possible sanctions over its nuclear program.

British Prime Minister Tony Blair said this month there was evidence that Iran or its Lebanese Hizbollah allies were the source of sophisticated technology used in roadside bombs, known as improvised explosive devices (IEDs), that have targeted British soldiers in southern Iraq.

Interesting, this following Rice's failure to win Russian support for taking Iran's nuclear program before the UN security council.

Who will they blame next?

The accusations were spreading in the Arab world long before the two Brits were arrested.

That incident simply placed it under a spotlight.

“A few days ago, an American manned check point confiscated the driver license of a driver and told him to report to an American military camp near Baghdad airport for interrogation and in order to retrieve his license. The next day, the driver did visit the camp and he was allowed in the camp with his car. He was admitted to a room for an interrogation that lasted half an hour. At the end of the session, the American interrogator told him: ‘OK, there is nothing against you, but you do know that Iraq is now sovereign and is in charge of its own affairs. Hence, we have forwarded your papers and license to al-Kadhimia police station for processing. Therefore, go there with this clearance to reclaim your license. At the police station, ask for Lt. Hussain Mohammed who is waiting for you now. Go there now quickly, before he leaves his shift work”.

The driver did leave in a hurry, but was soon alarmed with a feeling that his car was driving as if carrying a heavy load, and he also became suspicious of a low flying helicopter that kept hovering overhead, as if trailing him. He stopped the car and inspected it carefully. He found nearly 100 kilograms of explosives hidden in the back seat and along the two back doors.

Continued....

You can find similar claims stretching back more than two years.

Come on, if you had a passenger in your vehicle, you would hardly notice any difference in the vehicles handling. 100 kilos is not a substantial amount of weight to make any difference to a vehicles handling.

I weigh 76 kilos. With me in the passenger seat, there would no significant change in the vehicles handling characteristics.

Inspected the car or helicopter? I would have thought that low flying helicopters were the norm at the moment?

False falg operations that serve a variety of interest.

Conveniently, blame gets shifted from coalition forces to a neighboring country that we have planned on invading for quite some time now. (dismissed as coincidence)

To spark a civil war, which will legitamize continued U.S presence, and make the population easier to control.

Divide et impera, as valid today as it was thousands of years ago.
