Date Rape Cigarette

A woman in London has been date-raped after smoking a 'Rohypnol' cigarette. The woman who accepted a cigarette from a man in at a bar in south-east London claims she cannot remember anything after smoking the cigarette. Her memory returned after she had been sexually assaulted. Medical experts claim the cigarette was probably soaked in an embalming fluid which contained formaldehyde, which makes the user disorientated, hallucinate and eventually pass out.



Ok, for a start how can you claim it was from the cigarette? For all she knows she could have had her drink spiked, she could have been severely ill (causing nausea or black outs), or quite simply could have drank too much. If it turns out she was ‘cigarette’ spiked then this is a very sick story. What next? Spiked chewing gum?

It should be easy enough to check if it has anything to do with the cig, you would have to run tests on her fingers and her lungs, both of which will have been done by the Police as well as checks in her blood stream to see if it was in there...

As for chewing gum, I do believe that has already been done or at least the club I work at warns people not to accept it due to drug related problems.

I don't suppose it's impossible. Didn't the CIA once have a plot to load a few of Fidel Casto's cigars with hallucinagins? Either way this could lead to a lot of trouble if date rape cigs became popular.

A rape crisis website set up to help women spot the spiked cigarettes says they "taste like rubbing alcohol and smell like gasoline when they burn".

For some reason, I don't think you would have to be a rocket surgeon to know you were smoking something funny, based on the quote above.

It seems like just one more reason for women to give up smoking.
