Why would you hate to say it? Any decent man would hope something like this was not true, But seeing as the way you made that comment it only suggests you wish it was true so you could have some ammo, kinda sad actualy...

Cole... maybe because people are sick of being ANTIAMERICAN or BUSHBASHING with the current facts at hand regarding americas occupation.

maybe catching some ameicans in the act would result in some people ACTUALLY Realising the truth.. instead of labeling people.

The quote made by Heartagram, i think, was made to say that he totally disbelieves the story. I don't think that he would hope it was true. Its just his style of wording that tends to make you maybe think that.

Ya never know, he might have some pics of the event. He is back from tour at the end of the month, so i will ask him.

Al-Jazeera, the Arab TV network, does not have a news web site.

Its likely that you have been looking at the one run by westerners.

It is a propaganda site.....

I'm sure that later today, or tommorow there will be others with this information.

Not ever will it be anyone that you would consider 'reliable' because none of the western neo-con media sources would ever tell the truth to you about such things.

They will either ignore it, or paint it over as the BBC did when the Brits got caught.

You've got to be kidding me. The media in the US is more liberal and generally love to show things that would make Bush look worse. It's a well known fact that Al-Jazeera which is based in Qatar is trying to expand to draw in a western audience along with their large audience already in the middle east so it makes sense that they would add a web page in english. I'm also curious. Are you mis-informed or just lying?

I still have yet to see anything resembling the slightest SHRED of proof that these were US soldiers, if it even happened. Which leads me to believe that you are trying to inflame people and create controversy with the title of this thread. American does NOT automatically mean soldier.

As with the Brit story, the same applies here: till better mainstream news media sourcing or presnted to collaborate this obvious slanted and biased so-called news article, it is unconfirmed and having little to no validity.

Ain't that one of Cromwell's units? Sweet. Does he get to wear those big bearskin hats?

There is nothing to show that the event happened at all in fact. Its not unthinkable, it would be pretty horrible if it did happen, but it looks like the website reporting it is just a propaganda site. Looks like a socialist site too no?

THe british one was confirmed by the brits, what wasn't confirmed was what they were doing there. This story looks like they are just trying to put out some propaganda based on the basrah incident.

A number of Iraqis apprehended two Americans disguised in Arab dress as they tried to blow up a booby-trapped car in the middle of a residential area in western Baghdad on Tuesday.

Residents of western Baghdad’s al-Ghazaliyah district told Quds Press that the people had apprehended the Americans as they left their Caprice car near a residential neighborhood in al-Ghazaliyah on Tuesday afternoon (11 October 2005). Local people found they looked suspicious so they detained the men before they could get away. That was when they discovered that they were Americans and called the Iraqi puppet police.

Five minutes after the arrival of the Iraqi puppet police on the scene a large force of US troops showed up and surrounded the area. They put the two Americans in one of their Humvees and drove away at high speed to the astonishment of the residents of the area.

Continued....

It seems like yesterday when the Brits were caught doing just this.

The attempts by the occupation of instigating a civil war may backfire on them.

They may be able to control the media back home, but not everywhere else in the world.

I expect this to be reported in many Arab sources with the next day so keep a look out.

Sweet? is that some kind of put down?
But, er yeah, they do wear 'bearskins' but not in battle. Only on civic duty, ie, outside Buckingham Palace.
Ya might have seen them?

Check out the History of the Coldstream Guards, ya might be surprised at what you find.

Not to mention that they just hired a former Marine who will be based in Washington D.C. to report for Al-Jazeera.

Here is the link for the article: Marine joins Al-Jazeera

english.aljazeera.net...

This is the site that is not actually affiliated:
www.aljazeera.com...

Doesn't anyone think it's odd that ordinary Iraqi citizens would try to detain a car bomber? Or a suspected American? It's not something that they do, not even the Iraqi police.

I suspect all Westerners are Americans to them, it certainly seems that way by looking at who they kidnap. Oh wait, they kidnap everyone except the guy that's helping them kidnap. Nevermind.

Note: Delta Force in Somalia had members out on the street collecting intelligence all the time. Dressed like locals, and making contact with locals that are helping them. It is part of their operating procedure. It's even in the movie. Certainly was in the book.

One probability is that undercover soldiers bought explosives on the black market. It is known that explosives are available in the Basra area, perhaps from Iran, and the sources needed to be found.

And I pretty much don't believe the bomb story at all. If there was one, we'd have seen a zillion pictures of the car and it's bomb. More likely it was a trunk full of whiskey. Something embarrasing, that we won't ever hear about.

they were blowing up a booby trapped car?

sounds like they were detonating a car wired to explode.

does that not sound moronic?
