"Bond producers will regret dropping me"

breakingnews.iol.ie...

Former 007 star Pierce Brosnan is convinced James Bond producers are already regretting their decision to replace him with younger star Daniel Craig.

The Irish actor, 52, was heartbroken at being dropped from the role of the suave superspy, and he is certain movie bosses have made a huge mistake.

He says: "Whether they made the right choice, who knows? They're probably scared s**tless, thinking, 'What have we done?'"

British actor Craig, who is the first blond Bond, was officially named as Brosnan's replacement at a London press conference on Friday

I just thought that this needed to be added here.

Here are some details on the opening scene.

"We have an opening sequence that is filmed in black and white, which is not to say this is old. It is just to say, 'go with us on this one. This is from the beginning,"' Craig said.

If you're a James Bond fan, chances are you're going to like Daniel Craig's portrayal (blond hair aside...)

Hopefully, the general moviegoing public won't take him as Timothy Dalton II, and reject an actor trying to play the role with some authenticity.

On a 10 point scale, here's how I'd rank the actors:
Sean Connery -- 9.5
Pierce Brosnan -- 9.0
Timothy Dalton -- 8.9999999
George Lazenby -- 7.75
Roger Moore -- 4.0

From what I've seen thus far, Daniel Craig should be right up there around "9" or thereabouts. The movie itself is shaping up to be pretty damn good, although only time will tell.

I worked on this film. This guy is good! This is going to be one of the best James Bond films to date! According to Box Office takings. Its going to be like Batman Begins or Superman Returns or Spiderman 3. Watch out guys....

Hope this movie is good....I didn't really like that last one all that much.

BTW, the new Bond movie is called Casino Royale...they have modified a 747 just for this movie.

(In case ya dont know, the normal 747 has 4 engines and they each have there own pod...the 007 version have 2 pods with 2 engines)

I'm going to say Sean Connery was the firstand best Bond they even brought him back once after Lazenby did a poor job. Some guy said on page one that James Bond is british and connery is scottish.
Well for all you Americans who thought that was a good comment (and I didn't see anyone corrrecting him) England Ireland Scotland and Wales make up Britain,so he was Brittish.
I own Layer Cake and the 3 times I've watched it I fell asleep twice, I'm not looking forward to this film because of him, and besides he looks like a tomato with all that sunburn, are they going to paint him white again.

ummm...its purpose is to be in a movie.

I think its purly cosmetic...I doubt it will ever fly (in real life...it might on the silver screen (?)).

I wish the new bond would have colored his hair dark brown or black...he looks kinda blonde-ish.

Its set to go into theaters November 17.

BTW...For those of who who dont know...This movie is a "beginning" type of movie, like starting over. Like what they did with Batman in "Batman begins".

Its sad to admit, but this is the first James Bond movie to come out in my lifetime that I'm not excited about. Sure I'll still see it just cause I'm a 007 fan-boy, and that's what we fan-boys do (drop our hard earned cash on things we don't want just cause of a name...sad, I know). But come on guys, no Q-Branch? I understand that this is a prequel of sorts, but WTF mate?

When you think of James Bond getting into some kind of predicament, how does he get out of it? Usually with some kick ass gadget! I heard that the producers wanted to make this one more like The Bourne Identity franchise, but let's face it guys, if I wanted to watch The Bourne Identity I'd go rent it, or blast Matt Damon message boards until I was graced with a new movie.

Like I said, I'm going to see it, I just don't think its going to be very good. But I REALLY hope that I'm wrong!

Bond film smashes box office record in Britain

The new James Bond movie shook up the U.K. box office during its first day of release on Thursday, earning more than any other film in the spy franchise, distributor Columbia Pictures said.

"Casino Royale," which marks the 007 debut of Daniel Craig, sold 1.7 million pounds ($3.2 million) worth of tickets, a 54 percent increase over comparable sales for the previous Bond film and first-day record-holder, 2002's "Die Another Day."

I've seen it twice already, the film is fantastic! Daniel Craig is right up there with Connery, and surpasses him in terms of characterisation. You believe that Craig can do the things that he does, and he is absolutely bad ass! He's what Bond always was in the books, they've finally nailed it (with Craig having to take most of the plaudits, he just owns the role). They had to seriously rethink this series after Bourne came along, and they've done it.

Craig is an amazing actor and anyone who is going to moan because he's blondeare absolutely retarded.

No stupid gadgets (Bond actually relies on his wits); no silly and stale one liners ala Moore/Brosnan; no silly bad guys (Le Chiffe is a very real character, and at certain times you can feel sorry for him). The plot is actually good and the violence is very real and dangerous. You actually believe that Bond could be hurt or even killed. My God, they actually remembered to make this series thrilling again!

The only complaint is that the film runs too long by about 20 minutes, plus the rules being constantly explained during the poker game got on my nerves (although this is understandable for those in the audience who have no idea how the game is played).

I've got so much more to say about it but I just can't organise my thoughts.

This guy is better than Moore and Connery in my opinion. This movie was the best Bond movie yet.

I went in with very low expectations and was amazed at how good the movie was. It definitely took on a more serious tone than most Bond films. It was a pleasant surprise.

On top of all that, the female lead easily tops my list of Bond girls. She was fine as hell!

Peace

Best, most credible Bond movie ever, and Daniel Craig totally rocks!!

The chase through the building site was awesome... and now we know what that modified 747 was for....
