Israel's Shin Bet security agency has arrested a Palestinian woman who it says is a chief bomb maker for Hamas.

The 22-year-old was arrested during a massive sweep of the West Bank overnight by Israeli soldiers and Shin Bet agents.

At least 117 suspected Hamas militants from three networks were rounded up and detained in Ramallah and Hebron.

An unusual occupation for a woman in such a patriarchal male dominated society. On the other hand women have analytical abilities and are skillful and adept with small and steady hands. This does not go for all women or all men by any means but there would be many women who are suited to the dastardly profession.

Good article Mayet.

I'm sure very few suspected to find women involved in these type of situations.

What I find odd is that given the status of women in their society, these people would accept such training done by a female.

Dastardly clever of Hamas to use a female bomb maker/trainer in an Arab country. I wonder how they got onto her?

Nationalism doesnt discriminate gender. Hamas undoubtibly recruits whoever has the skills needed. Im surprized Israel keeps managing to capture high ranking hamas agents on a routine basis. Its quite a feat, and since they have so much training, wouldn't their agents and training be ideal for some other countries like the UK, USA, and Russia, all of which have obvious terrorist/bomb threat problems.
