Two days after the earthquake struck which devastated the kashmir region of the sub continent and surrounding areas, a 6 year old boy has been rescued
alive from the rubble left when his school collapsed during the tremor. Rescuers were heartened to hear the cries of young girls and are hopeful of
pulling more children out alive. There was 400 children at the school when the earthquake struck and destroyed their building.

People gathered at the site to help in the rescue effort said they had heard the voices of a few girls who were still trapped under the debris. "We
hope to recover them and others alive," a volunteer said.
No rescue workers apart from a few from a private charity have reached the town of 30,000 and people have been digging at the wreckage to find their
children.
In Balakot, two schools and an Islamic madrassa or seminary were toppled, with nearly 1000 students thought to be buried in total.

This is happy news. It is always tragic when lives are lost due to disasters but even more so when they are innocent children only just beginning to
live.
