NO goverment could stop any product that has a 17,000 times mark up from entering the country. The CIA dont have the power to stop something like that and nobody does.

If there was enough demand that I could produce a pen for 1 buck and sell it for 17 grand nobody on earth could stop me.

I'm going to have to agree with Shadow. The U.S. cannot stop all of the drugs from coming in, much less get "just the right amount". We can't even stop people from flooding into this country.

Having said that, the officer is probably aware that the CIA and U.S. military have allowed drug transactions to take place and drugs to flow in for several reasons. Often to get to the big fish, exchanges must be allowed and made to build credibility within an organization. Another way it occurs is through illegal activity by troops working in areas like Colombia and smuggling the cocaine back in on military aircraft without the knowledge of others.

In some, our black projects even utilize the drug trade to help fund little wars (Iran/Contra).

I wouldnt be shocked if the CIA used the drug trade to fund projects they didnt want a money trail for. There is just so much money to be made off the drug trade a estimated $500 billion a year last time I checked.

Thats alot of money wouldnt suprize my if shady factions of goverment wanted a slice of that pie.

(I saw that History Channel show too, it was pretty good except it kept repeating the same laws and movie clips for each drug. One long episode with all the drugs would have been better i think.)

It was interesting how you could buy a heroin setup at woolworths for $20.

Lets just through out some random numbers that dont mean anything, so we can get an idea of how this could work. lets say they can control a good section of it. say arbitrarily 40%.

knowing they dont control 60% , and wanting about 80% of the total to go through, all they would have to do is restrict their operations by half.

more likely they can make stops on some of that 60% also. lets arbitarily say 20% of that 60% or 12% total share. thats 48% + 20% = 68%. they stopped 42%. thats controlling the market. its also driving up the share price.

Violator what do you mean you can get a heroin setup at Woolworths for $20 Do you mean a spoon, cotton ball, syringe and lighter? Please clarify that because you make it sound as though woolworth sells an actual heroin starter kit for $20

I don't think the govt could stop all illegal drug imports unless they wanted to seriously dampen the trade in the US which would effect the economy more than drug use does.

doesnt this have to do with the gary webb story that broke years back, about how the cia was dealing with weapons trades and in order to break the real criminals they had to let some stuff slip through, and in it just turned into a explosion of an epidemic down in LA. well shoot i say go after the guns, drug addicts are only dangourous when they have guns

Cia drugtrafficing money goes to blackbudget funding, they need it bad to secure US world dominance. So actually they see it as protecting their country.

Thought this link my be a good refresher for those out there looking into the plane recently obtained containing 5 toms of cocaine and having political ties to its owners.

I think the CIA is heavily involved with the drug trade from supporting dictatorships in the country on origin in South America to allowing it to spread throught out the US while taking a big chunk of money to line there own pockets.
