What about the jetpack in the movie Rocketeer is there a prototype? It keeps returning in games like bf1942.

Actually i have seen this kind of thing to fly in tv.. it worked fine..

I saw it also being used on discovery channel and in one of the 007 movies

The Bond movies arent the reality,
but im still telling you that there is/was least for test purposes this kind of "Back-pack rocket"

I believe sometimes movies or based on real stories which happen't. And sometimes scientists get inspiration from movies. But I know you are right it is really being tested by the US department of defence.

I just remembered:

The US Solotrek i so loud, lets hope for the Chinese sake that their "Powered Parachute (PPC)" is "little" more silent..

Fury, this is allready mentioned here..

But, there is actually a rocket 'pack-back' that works..

I've seen a number of rocket-pack variants, including one that looks like a flying zimmerframe...

The problems are: noise, cost, endurance and safety! These things are extremely unsafe!! Remeber what happened to the statue they used to test fly the rocket pack in The Rocketeer?

But i havent ever seen the Rocketeer movie.. is this movie worth watching?

yeah it is worth watching. it is about that rocketpack and both the governement and the Nazi try to get it. There are some nice parts of the movie were you can see what the nazi germany wants with it. Invade US.

Who said Rocket back packs were dangerous.
