terms. He (God) refers to Satan as THE devil causally. Satan by definition is a modern english word for the Hebrew version of its own meaning in
English: Semjaza is the one know as Satan and he probably is a devil. Dontcha think?
Like so many times before, I'd like to address the ethymology of the word devil. The claim is that the word devil that surfaced during the dark ages
stems back to the Greek
diablos which has the exact same meaning of the Hebrew
satan. I on the other side smell a rat here, for the
origin of the word "devil" seems to be the Romani/Gypsie word for god -- "devel", who in their turn trace the word back to India and Sanskrit
where they have words like devi also meaning god or goddess. The Latin word "dei" is probably derived from the same word. In Norway we have a
saying: "Beloved child has many names". If we are to apply this to the church their most beloved seems to be Satan.
About Satan being the old serpent, this points back to the fall of Adam. According to Jewish tradition, the serpent in the tree of wisdom was Lilit,
Adam's first wife(!) who was instructed/tempted by Satan to get revenge over Adam for leaving her. Satan at the time was ministering in the highest
Heaven as a Cherub (at this stage Satan's name was Iblis according to the Koran). Semjaza, who was the leader among the watchers who fell because
they made children with the children of Man and the other humans who bore forth giants and monsters. Semjaza is a demonised guardian angel, a fallen
one, please elaborate on your theory that Semjaza is The Satan. After that, God set a firmament or a border between Heaven and Earth as written in
what I call the Prophetic Creation, an allegorical layer of the first couple of chapters in Genesis, and God restricted the mandate of the
guardians/watchers and judged the fallen to be chained and imprisoned for 70 generations in the underground caves of the wilderness. The great Dragon
has seven heads, meaning he has many appearances, he is an organisation. Satan means literally (false) accuser or adversary, and is just as much (even
more) a word/term as (than) it is a proper name. He is the DA in the court of God. Well he has been anyway, but his days are numbered. Soon he must
take the penalty for his false accusations, for Jesus is soon to be King, and he has an alternative to the unpredictable Satan who is reknown for his
ways of committing crime to reveil crime, to refine the evil potential of the humans through tempting and lying.
Blessings,
