Chile, 1973. The other 9/11

Santiago of Chile, September 11, 1973.

Th president Salvador Allende is taken with the trap by the tanks of the soldiers putschists. The president puts an end to his days in his palate.

Thirty years ago, the hopes of a whole progressist generation were drowned in blood. The Chilean experiment of the popular Unit was completed under the riding crop of the Pinochet General.

Thousands hundred people will be opressed, abducted, tortured, killed and will definitively disapear for them families.

If actually, the old general is protected from any international court judgement, history will never forget...

The poor Chileans did not deserve this murderer as their leader. Wasn't he installed with CIA help?

The allende goverment was not the most godly boys themselfes. They killed, raped, tortured and stole possesions.

Maybee there was some reason for the military coup? Thought of that before?

Hehe, the reson for the coup was that Allende was a marxist. The US feard communism, so Nixon gave Henry and the CIA the freedom to do what they wanted about it. The same thing has happend before,for example when Jacobo Arbenz started to hand out newly nationalised fields from the National Fruit Juice Company to indians and farmers. Everyone knows commi behavior like that pisses the US off. Especially when it endangers the finacial interests of a mighty fammily like The Rockefellers(I believe they own The National Fruit Juice Company).

Well, anyway, giving the power of decission to Kissinger and the CIA of course resulted in the CIA arrangin a coup against the democraticly elected government of Chile killing Allende and installing Augusto Pinoche as a dictator... which resulted in the death of hundreds of thousands of inocent in the years to come under Pinoches regieme. I hardly believe that was called for... and even most of the current politicians in america (mostly democrats, but also republicans) are smart enough to see that it was a huge misstake from the US. Of course there are some idiots left, like Henry, who still believe it was the right thing to do... to prevent communism from spreading throughout South America. The last time I heard Henry support the coup was a few weeks ago on "Secrets Of The State" on Discovery.
