He gave the example and in the same sentence he said it was morally reprehensable. Ever heard of playing Devil's advocate?

If he said this on Tuesday why did it take till Friday to make the news? Took alittle while to get the Democrat talking points down, I guess?

The best thing that can come of this is that blacks will take a harder look at who supports abortion and who doesn't.

I am extremely disappointed by the Bush administration by not supporting Bennett. They should have gone after the media for obviously taking someone out of context for political gain.

Might want to read his entire quote. I don't see what's so bad about what he said, it IS hypothetical.

I by no means think this is what we should do but the facts are there. Would crime rates go down? Judge for yourself but don't judge me.

I forget the figures, but I seem to remember that America has over 50% of all the worlds convicts in our prisons and over 70% of all people in American prisons and jails today are of African American descent.

So, coming from a former Secretary of Education, these statistics may support his view. I think their may have been a little sarcasm in his words, and state of mind when he used them. I don't subscribe to the belief this is actually how this guy thinks and feels.

IMHO the fact that he made the statement in the first place shows he believes it to be true & therefore he is a racist. I don't believe it was any accident that he made the statement, I believe he deliberately made racist remarks in order to get the feel of "acceptablity" for such things.
I remember a few months before the stories of torture of Iraqi prisoners by US forces broke, the news stations & other places were doing polls asking if torture is acceptable when it comes to questioning terrorists, sadly according to those polls the majority of Americans said "Yes, torture is acceptable when it comes to getting information that will help prevent terrorist attacks".
It is my opinion that this current administration is trying to start a race war, I believe that the hurricanes were at the least manipulated into the gulf area for a specific purpose by weather weapons controlled by our government, I believe that they are deliberately relocating these people in places were they cannot fit in & are looked down on by many of the people in the areas they are sent to in order to cause more violence & chaos so THEY can step in & restore order i.e. the need for martial law, crowd control(microwave weapon) & citizen detention all in the name of national security.
Many of these "blunders" & mistakes these people make when speaking publically are not accidental but carefully worded speeches to get exactly the reaction they want which is to cause division in the people.
Also these people say things in public that are triggers to set off certain mindcontrolled indiviuals, it is entirely possible that what Bennett said could very well sound like a good idea to a lot of racist skinheads & white supremeist who would think they were doing America a favor by killing black babies.
A man in the position that Bennett is in should know better than to say these kind of things & the fact that he did causes me to believe it was no accident.

Deploy to applicable demographic, target marketting, fire slogans. Dead bang for the majority of voters, because the majority of voters are only partially aware of the subtle manipulations of consciousness being utilized. They can be played like.. [insert metaphor here].

I'm done. This issue so closely resembles every other issue of importance in the modern political discourse, it's useless to think of it independently. That's the problem that keeps arising, I think, in terms of finding solutions.

The main problem really isn't being honestly confronted, and so it should be no surprise that change is still waiting in the wings for its cue from the people. If the people continue to be such obvious suckers for this crap, then the people deserve to be taken advantage of.
