New theory on Mammoth Extinction

An interesting theory has been brought forward by nuclear scientist Richard Firestone and geologist Allen West, based on a 34,000 year old mammoth tusk "riddled with tiny craters". They think it was a supernova from 41,000 years ago.


...iron-rich grains emitted from the explosion shot into the tusks. Whatever caused the craters had to have been travelling around 6, 214 miles per second, and no other natural phenomenon explains that damage.
