nephyx & Fredng: Please tell me you're joking. If "the aliens" keep you alive for more than 2 seconds its because they derive some sadistic
pleasure from it. There's nothing you can do against a warlike sentient speices even 100 years up the tech chain, much less anything that could
actually get to Earth.
Incarnate: ... Really? When you speak about something like that as if you KNOW, nobody believes you. This is a pretty tried-and-true method and the
fact that you actually stated it as truth is pretty sad, like you actually can know something so deep about something so beyond human comprehension
25cents: Interesting point. Since the most powerful members of Western society are not trained for hard labor but debates and such, it is unlikely
that most of us would be good slave labor.
In fact, as a general rule, the fact that we are so insignificant makes me much more comforted than the world covered in nukes. Not that it's much,
of course, because the "experiment" idea seems more than possible.
salsa: Good lord. 35% of the population do not believe that the everything the white house, CNN, and FOX says is true. Maybe 0.001% do. I don't think
anything is 100% anything, and I think that you'd be surprised to find that most other people don't either. And if what you really meant to say was
"You're a member of the political right," news for you: We actually have some pretty good ideas.
Your previous post, however, was dead on. A self-serving alien race might find us useful for semi-intelligent hunt. To defend my position here, yes,
it would be just as easy to kill us with some million-years-later equivilent of an AK47. But the analogy applies: most hunters don't go shooting
bears with sniper rifles and body armor, so it wouldn't be unreasonable that an alien looking for entertainment would intentionally weaken himself to
hunt man. I'd like to add to that that I've always had this vision of aliens torturing humans for their own sick pleasure, and I'd just like to say
that I called it.
DrBones666: Haha, real funny. Except not. It would be way, way faster and more efficient to just create some fast-spreading bacteria and spread it all
over the world. The more survivors they want, the less potent they make it. Pretty simple.
Dubble Flux: GAH! What is up with people and the 'greys'? I just don't get this. It's another case where you talk about something that's way
beyond comprehension and try and shove it down my throat as fact. Except this story is widespread, which makes it even worse.
lilblam: I could praise you all night for your rational thought, but instead I'd just like to point out that you said "maybe they have a natural
ability to space-travel like birds can fly?" Yes! Finally someone who can see that just because WE have to breathe oxygen (preferably o2) and WE are
confined by the speed of light, doesn't mean that everything or everyone is.
In my personal opinion, these kinds of aliens would be far more interesting, because technology would probably develop so dramatically differently (if
at all. To use a fictional example of lack of tech development, the Zerg from Starcraft). There would be little reason to develop long range travel
devices, and one would think that technology would be far more portable... ah, or something more revolutionary that I can't even imagine.
street_fighter: You must also be joking. Please see my response to nephyx, except take it a little lighter, because all you claim to want is to know.
I would also be interested in knowing, even though there's no chance that I could use it before humanity needs it/I die.
godservant: What if the antichrist came out of the sky? It's a good idea but it needs a bit of refining.
truth08: Interesting. Unfortunately, it is still a future-prediction device, and I am both highly skeptical of anything that tries to do this and
would be interested to see how the code came up with "end of life as we know it"
Just my thoughts,
Turiski
