The west is creating an extremely dangerous economic, environmental and humanitarian timebomb. We are living beyond our means. The poorest countries need to trade on fair terms with us if they are ever to get off their knees. Handouts are no longer the answer.
When the WTO started out, poor countries were spun the line that they could gain access to western markets if they signed up to a pro-business agenda - even though that agenda was potentially at the cost of their already suffering populations.

Not working so well for anyone except multi-national corporations.

well Mycroft, I very much doubt the WTO was EVER meant to do the poor countries good. It does what everything else does in capatilism - it gets the money to the big boys like Bush.

a capitolism can't possibly have everyone being equal, or even near equal, that is if you want to have some people being rich, to have some very rich u need many very poor

And knowing that organizations like that have power and are allowed to go on as they like while most people don't care or dont know, makes people desperate enough to stab themselves to death with a knife in protest. Capitalism is sick and so is the world.

WTC = World Trade Center

HQ of

WTO = World Trade Organisation

Or was..

Timebomb had allready been here for a long time..

And it went off in 11.9.2001.

Think about it.

Or have you forgot that US citizens also every time take active role in riots against WTO meetings?
This not very much different what OBL did.

OBL:s "riot" was just much more violent, and partially unjust as innocents died also.

This article cover how the WTO came into being,along with a whole slew of other organisations which all serve the same purpose.

It seems that those who are in the governments are frequently tricked into these arrangements which end up costing their countries dearly,if they realise they have been duped and attempt to back out they are destroyed.
