That's been asked here before. The general consensus is that it can not be done! Many have tried though, so feel free!

Considering that we're on page 129, and the thread has been going for seven years or so, good luck with that.
This thread won't die. We've tried, it just won't.

Keep in mind, been here 3 years longer, and at least, not too long ago, the only one here who had more posts than me was Skeptic Overlord himself, hehe.... I have quite the wake of dead threads on my boots....

Yes, yes you have been. But do you live on here? About the only thing to do after my driving shift is up is to sit on ATS hitting refresh. Oh god..... I just realized that I'm responsible for the problems on the boards lately. Does that make me a Board Killer?

ETA: Damnit! I need to make one more thread. I'm at 399 started.

Yes, but can you claim Board Killer?

Yes we do. So many of those 16,000 posts would be the last one in the thread. And no fair counting thread closings.

Without an automated count, we'd never know...and of course, shouldn't count threads closed as a mod.

Perhaps getting such a stat should be one of the stated goals of your group?

I might actually sit down and do it one day (just for members of the group). I'm sitting in Texas for four days with as little as possible to do so I have tons of time on my hands.

Don't worry, you'll get better at it if you hang around us.

I hope you brought donuts (if they're Duncan Donuts we're going to flog you and tie you to an anthill), Mountain Dew, and beer. As the latest initiate, you are responsible for food until the next new schmuck, I mean initiate comes along.

Now you wait just one little minute here Zaph.

Who says we have to initiate the next victim, I mean member, that comes along so that they can get us our food. I thought that it was the third guy in charge that gets everything for us. Besides, when did we change the initiation procedures to being tied onto an anthill. Didn't we tie them to a chair and make them listen to a certain jedi that's not on here anymore?

i don’t mind to be 'initiated' into this unusual club. i gladly bring some distraction with my shame. but my choice would have been pretzels to go with the beer.

but if you prefer mountain dew and donuts….. here they are

i think i’m a pretty good thread killer also. when i first started here and first noticed my unwanted talent, i felt truly embarrassed, it happened that often. but my chagrin does not stop here.

yesterday i browsed and visited some old favourite threads which now makes me come out with the following confession:: not only am i a thread killer par excellence, i might have even accidentally killed an ats character !! That member never ever posted a thread again after my last stupid comment.

what’s the matter with me ?

and i don't want my threads ended counted -

Sadly, I checked into it, and there are a lot of problems with coming up with a threadkill tally...

1) People could post just to try and be the last, causing longer threads, storage issues.
2) Board drama
3) Defining a proper threadkill (always just the last post?)

etc., etc.

Oh well, I tried.

So do we want an informal count, just for TKA members? We can set ground rules to prevent drama, and how the "kills" are counted. It would just be a fun kind of thing for us.

Oh, too bad.

Does ATS automatically close threads after set period of time? If so you could count number of killed threads at a certain anniversary, and name the winner, rather than have a running tally.

Hello, my name is K2 and I am a thread killer. Can I please be welcomed into your club? Is there hazing?

Oh wait, no one will answer, I just killed this thread.

So many have tried, all have failed.

We don't haze, we just give seemingly impossible tasks to complete.

I think we need to start a ten step program to help those afflicted.
