Why do people let power get to their heads?

Has anybody ever thought to themselves "gosh why do people use power for stupid reasons just to use it?". Ive came across alot of stupid reasons to use power just becasue someone has it. I had a pep rally the other day and all of the other classes were booing the freshmen...some tradition. Well the principle stepped up and starting yelling at us to stop. Well everyone starting booing her. Now I can understand booing her was wrong, but her stopping us from a tradition. That was just plain dumb. Okay, I followed a cop going 70 in a 40..hehe that was fun, he didnt do anything, but when I looked in my mirror he had just pulled into Barnhills (southern resuraunt i guess).

Any opinions?? List some "power hungry" things that you have encountered, im interested to hear your story
