May Elrond Forgive Me

Some background on this is in order.

Basically, it was last year, it was late, I had just upgraded my recording rig (which still sucked back then) and wanted to see how much noise would accumulate in a series of recorded layers.

Did I mention I was drunk?

Anyway, this is what came of that.

I hemmed and hawed about pushing this over the feed because I wasn't sure it was "pod safe", since it's based on an Elven song from The Lord of the Rings.

I have concluded it's okay because:

1. The lyrics and music are freely available on the Internet

2. The actual recording is arranged and performed by me

3. It isn't being used for commercial purposes

I think "cover tunes" are generally okay if performed uniquely, don't contain any original audio and aren't used for commercial purposes.

If I'm wrong about that, let me know.

I'm planning to do some more things along these lines (and preferably while sober).

I did another one even more massively-layered than this one based on the Haibane Renmei song Ethereal Remains, and may post that one as well.

May as well share the fruits of my rather bizarre and mercurial whim.

Great use of polyphony. First I thought it was a bolivian song until I read that it was from LOTR.

I thought renting a choir for the perfomance would cost a fortune, you must be real rich man
