Well iran is still in the league and it just looks more and more hopeless for U.S trying to pushward sanction against us, its better if you stick along with it or hell it be better if you now ccoperate more with Iran and possibly make allies.

WASHINGTON -- President Bush won no support from Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday in his bid to bring Iran before the UN Security Council for possible sanctions, and Bush acknowledged he has not yet forged an international consensus on how to deal with Tehran's alleged nuclear program.

After a meeting at the White House, Bush and Putin emerged to reaffirm their friendship and emphasize that they both oppose Iran obtaining nuclear weapons. But Putin offered no backing for the tougher approach favored by Bush to bring the weight of the United Nations to bear. Instead, Putin called for more diplomacy with Iran's new leadership.

"The potential of diplomatic solutions to all these issues is far from exhausted," Putin said at a joint appearance with Bush in the East Room a day after meeting Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. "And we will undertake all steps necessary to settle all these problems and issues, not aggravate them.

"We do not want our careless actions to lead to the development of events along the North Korean variant," he said.

By that, Putin meant the so far fruitless attempts to persuade the Kim Jong Il regime to give up its weapons program, which may have produced several nuclear bombs. North Korea has been brought before the Security Council in the past, only to have China block action against it.

Now North Korea has abandoned the nuclear non-proliferation treaty altogether, and six-party talks involving the United States in Beijing are stalemated.

Bush administration officials had hoped to win enough support for a vote Monday by the International Atomic Energy Agency to send the Iran case to the Security Council. European powers support such a move after their negotiations with Tehran failed to produce any agreement.

Like Putin, Chinese President Hu Jintao declined to back the U.S. effort during a meeting with Bush in New York earlier this week. Without Russia and China, both veto-wielding members of the council, U.S. and European diplomats fear a referral vote might be meaningless.

Bush signaled that he might wait past Monday to seek such a referral in hopes of building more support.

"I am confident that the world will see to it that Iran goes to the UN Security Council if it does not live up to its agreements," he said. "And when that referral will happen is a matter of diplomacy."

Putin, whose government is helping Iran build a civilian nuclear power plant despite U.S. objections, said Ahmadinejad assured him at their meeting Thursday in New York that Iran does not want nuclear weapons.

"We of course are against Iran becoming a nuclear power," the Russian leader said.

Since when did the US listen to the international community? Only together is the international community able to call itself a superpower...

They are just forcing our hand in this situation. It's time for an ultimatum, you cease nuclear activity and your country can remain intact, do not and become a crater.

Amazing how the world has come full circle since the pre-Glasnost days. Who ever would have dreamed we would
have the former bastion of hardline communism and expansionism telling the U.S. government, "The potential of diplomatic
solutions to all these issues is far from exhausted...and we will undertake all steps necessary to settle all these
problems and issues, not aggravate them."

"The circle is complete old man; when you left I was but the student, Now I am the MASTER!"

"Only a master of evil, George."

All the US would have to do to get Russia, China and Iran to their attention would be to station the USN’ Fifth Fleet at the Strait of Hormuz, that would put an end to 80% of Iran's oil exports.

By the way the Darth Bush picture was cute, worthless, but cute.
It kind of reminded me of this other worthless picture.

both Russia and China are with iran throughout its nuclear program and will vote off any sanction against us, no disrespect to the americans but if U.S decided to try and block our trade routes than we will have permission to knock them out with our subs.
