The classic "bathroom break" excuse people!

Were you ever so freakin bored during class in highschool that you just HAD to leave? The "bathroom break" is the easiest excuse in the world!

Somebody was very bored at that summit, me thinks

HE isnt asking, he is responding. Notice how he is writing AFTER the question mark? And the handwriting style changes? Its plain as day.

He is responding.

Good eye!..even though you'll be ignored, 'cause it's not as funny that way.
You're right..Condi asks George if SHE could take a bathrom break.

Article from the Sunday Times. It says that even Drudge Report had a piece about this under the title "Bush Needs to Go Potty".

Times Online: 'Excuse me Condi, can I go to the bathroom?'

President Bush had a more pressing worry than terrorism or reforming the United Nations during a Security Counil meeting in New York yesterday - the leader of the world's only superpower wanted to go the loo.

At one point during the Council's debate on international security and UN reform, Mr Bush picked up a pencil and wrote a short note to Condoleezza Rice, the Secretary of State.

"I think I may need a bathroom break? Is this possible?" the note read.

The photograph, taken by a Reuters photographer, was widely reposted and discussed on the internet - including a piece on the influential Drudge Report under the title "Bush Needs to Go Potty".

Hellmutt, are you that shocked that initial news reports can be wrong?
No slight on you, but I think the great members of ATS here have pretty much debunked that the "potty" question was written by Bush.

You have voted djohnsto77 for the Way Above Top Secret award.
You have used all of your votes for this month

If I had any 'way above' votes left Skippy would have gotten one too.

See people? THIS is what we are supposed to be doing.
But I guess ridicule is more fun. eh?

Here, I've made up this:

You don't have to be a handwriting expert to see that the first phrase in the note was written by someone else. Look at the "I"s circled in red, they don't match the "I" in the second phrase (circled in blue), but the second part does match known GW Bush handwriting (circled in green).

It simply wasn't written by him.

You're right. I don't think anyone's arguing.

Fine.. Fine..

But his handwrighting sure sucks don't it?

Let's see him deny that he was asking permission - now that would be funny!

Now we just need a sample of Condi´s handwriting, and then we will know if it was her or somebody else who wrote it.

Try this:

Both of them are on this sample.

It's in longhand though..Except for the I in Iraq..Which looks similar

She makes her "I"s both ways. I do that, too, depending on my mood. I think she probably really had to go.

Yikes!! seeing that b.s. makes me sick!

But I agree her "I" does look similar - only goes to reason it was her if he was passing it back to her...

Per Snopes the authencity of this particular note is yet undetermined:

I don't think that's Bush's handwriting either, it does look like he's responding to a note passed to him...not that it really matters anyway.

Ah, I see.
Yeah, I had thought and posted in another thread that was some mighty purty printin' for a cowboy. I bet that's from Condi and he's responding. He wouldn't ask her for a break, but she asks him what to think so whether or not she can release her bladder probably comes under his authority as well.

Here is more insight into how the photo was published

enhanced, but not otherwise manipulated..

Authentic, IMO

I really don't see the issue either way. If Bush had to go, or if Condi had to go.. whoever wrote the letter was asking if it was acceptable to go.. where's the problem in this?

Last I checked, they were human.. maybe the meeting was long, and the time arrived?

Gasp, How dare he/she have to go wee-wee!

I think the real problem here is the reporter taking snapshots of notes/letters being passed between world leaders. But that's just me..

That only makes it better. Look at where the writing changes...

Condi, or whomever wrote... "I THINK I MAY NEED A BATH"

I mean, the administration stinks so it kind of makes sense, I guess...

ROTFL

It would actually make sense for the president to finish the sentence with "room break?" to clarify. The "is this possible" could be a slightly annoyed question, quite justified.

I think I may let Mr Bush off on this one.

We're going over this because of the way it was originally represented.
Personally I agree with you, who cares..
Everyone poops

You can see as this thread progressed, how funny it was at first...Just another little dig at the POTUS...When in fact, he did not write the top part..
