With the now mandatory evacuation of the city of N.O. and new plans to nock down most of the buildings in N.O. Also the migration and distribution of its residents, is the USA planning on building a new Trillion Dollar City that will be the new gold coast of the USA for all the new super rich.

Your alarm clock is going off, time to wake up...

You obviously know nothing of the people of Louisiana, a city for the super rich in Cajun land?

Hmmmmm....
Why would anyone in their right mind want to sink a trillion dollars into buiding a city that would be in an area that is subject to frequent hits by tropicla storms as well as hurricanes? Let us not also forget that New Orleans does lie below sea level!

Are we seriously etertianing the idea of rebuilding NO?, and if we are, are they stupid enough to build it below sea level again? cant they find some other swamp to live in?

I'm thinking that NO will be rebuilt primarily by private corporations who will be offered sweethearts deals to develop there, and it will turn into a city based entirely on tourism. They already have one casino there, more are sure to follow. I foresee a bleak and soulless "Las Vegas of the south" with most of this historic charm and flaor swallowed up by ostentatious and gaudy new development.

u got it right, ryan...the new new orleans will be owned by big corps.. of course they will rebuild it..'cause what is the chance that another huricane/levee sabatoge (oops, did i write that outloud
) will wipe out new neworleans...before the corps can make their money back.....
or maybe it will be our money..some type of federal tax to help rebuild NO????

Um, is everyone forgetting the recent SC ruling on Emminent Domain!? Emminent Domain allows cities to take away private land for private development if the land is considered blighted or abandoned. Ummmm, I'm reasonable sure that NO will be considered both blighted and abondoned when this is over with. Sadly, NO WILL be rebuilt with YOUR TAX DOLLARS to the benefit of wealthy corporations and individuals. Does anyone here actually believe for 10 seconds that the bottom 20% of the economic ladder will ever be repatrioted into the city of New Orleans!? Ummmm, doubt it!
