I can't watch the video yet, but I do have a question.

Would it be possible that goods are being collected to assist with the aid of others?

(not that stealing is every ok, really, but in a crisis like this the line between right and wrong is so much murkier)

This could very well be, they were looking through the shoe aisle. But when the interviewer asked the one lady cop what she was doing, she said she was doing her job, looking for looters. Maybe she meant to say they were looking for loafers and high heel pumps. They obviously were looking too hard for the looters, there were alot of people taking things that weren't essential to survival. One lady had a cart full of purses for crying outloud. Children were taking bikes and those small motorized vehicles that they can drive around in. Now maybe the latter two items could be used for making their way out of the disaster area, I feel its highly unlikely that that is the case.

So these officers were not doing their jobs and should be reprimanded and possibly discharged from their jobs as law enforcers.

It's the attitude. They looked like they were just shopping on a regular day.

Good for them. These officers probably have families and they were taking stuff to help their own. Its all no good anyway, its all a tax write off- what the heck! Take it.
Stealing is wrong, but under this type of duress i say more power to them.
I am very trustworthy but i would have brought a shopping cart with water skis attached to the wheels.

I seen them walking around but did not see them steel. Did I miss something here on this video?

If you're gonna steal, it's probably best not to do it in uniform..
and if you ARE in uniform...You should be doing your job, which is "Protect, and serve"

I saw this. It was day two I believe and looked very bad for the department. Two (maybe three) female police officers filling a cart "shopping." When confronted, one walked away and the camera followed her as she said she was there looking for looters.

Funny she didn't notice the 30+ people looting the store in the background of the video the whole time.

You cant judge these people until you've walked in their shoes. Survival comes with elements of crime.
Its also against the law to indulge in cannivalism, but its done as a form of survival, and those people arent thinking about any laws.
