Ah, the ultimate threat, the kilt, ok DW you win. The Widow is a good looking aircraft, now put the kilt and bagpipes back in the closet.

Not too mention the YF-23's pathetically small weapons bay.

the F-22 ATF.....looks....BEATIFUL....speed....duh FAST!..its the 1st fighter to have supercruise correct me if I'm right here supercruise=meaning it can acheieve the faster then sound speeds WITHOUT afterburners...=yum

fighters that can evenly match it.....only one come to mind=the typhoon its been simulated<--yes I know it doesnt mean jack that it still takes 2 typhoons per 1 F-22

so is the f-22 a big waste of cash ...in my opinon HELL NO it will keep you & your family sleeping nice and cozy in your houses as free as the USA still is which is getting less free per day .. but hey I'd rather live here then North Korea ^&*^ KIM lol

Actually the Lightning also could supercruise at about mach 1.2 or so but it wasnt called supercruise back then.

OK, I will. the English Electric P.1A was the first supercruiser in 1954 (yes, I said 1954 ) and that was the prototype for the P.1B Lighning which entered service in 1960 and was used until 1988. It was replaced by the Tornado F-3 which does not have supercruise.

However the Typhoon F2 which is replacing the Tornado F.3 DOES have supercruise so maybe Britains next fighter won't have, again.

They both have a top supercruise speed of mach 1.5 . However the F/A-22's afterburn top speed is mach 1.8 or 1.9 , while YF-23's top afterburn speed in mach 2.0 .
