I want to see what people have admitted to doing without knowing they are breaking god's law...

I'll go first.

I have broken the law of using the lord's name in vain, not keeping the sabbath holy, not honouring my father/mother, commiting adultery, and stealing.

I've never killed anyone, except for small bugs like flies, and ants (when I was little)

9, 10, 2 and 1 i've never broken...

I've personally commited 6/10 holy crimes. And I do regret and repented of those crimes, and I can only hope that god can forgive me...I think a new commandment is claiming jesus as your personal saviour, which i've done...

Anyone else want to make known what kind of holy crimes they've committed?

Here are his laws in numeric order:

ONE: 'You shall have no other gods before Me.'

TWO: 'You shall not make for yourself a carved image--any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.'

THREE: 'You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.'

FOUR: 'Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.'

FIVE: 'Honor your father and your mother.'

SIX: 'You shall not murder.'

SEVEN: 'You shall not commit adultery.'

EIGHT: 'You shall not steal.'

NINE: 'You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.'

TEN: 'You shall not covet your neighbour's house; you shall not covet your neighbour's wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbour's.'

The Laws given to Moses are found at Leviticus 19
Lev 19:1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

Lev 19:2 Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy: for I the LORD your God am holy.

Lev 19:3 Ye shall fear every man his mother, and his father, and keep my sabbaths: I am the LORD your God.

Lev 19:4 Turn ye not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I am the LORD your God.

Lev 19:5 And if ye offer a sacrifice of peace offerings unto the LORD, ye shall offer it at your own will.

Lev 19:6 It shall be eaten the same day [the 1st day] ye offer it, and on the morrow [the 2nd day]: and if ought remain until the third day [the 3rd day], it shall be burnt in the fire.

Lev 19:7 And if it be eaten at all on the third day, it is abominable; it shall not be accepted.

Lev 19:8 Therefore every one that eateth it shall bear his iniquity, because he hath profaned the hallowed thing of the LORD: and that soul shall be cut off from among his people

ONE: 'You shall have no other gods before Me.'

Yep, I'm good.

TWO: 'You shall not make for yourself a carved image--any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.'

Hmm, makes me wonder about crosses. Also would that include images such as whales, fish, stars, moon, angels. I might be guilty here, need to explore this one.

THREE: 'You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.'

Guilty, but do much better in the last 2 years than before.

FOUR: 'Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.'

Well, I go to church but I still do things, is that unholy? Jury out on this one.

FIVE: 'Honor your father and your mother.'

I do. Now as a child I had a few nasty words but I outgrew them.

SIX: 'You shall not murder.'

I don't.

SEVEN: 'You shall not commit adultery.'

I have not.

EIGHT: 'You shall not steal.'

I don't, however, I did once when I was young. Does forgetting to return pens and paperclips to work count as stealing??? (uh oh)

NINE: 'You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.'

I don't think I have unless I am not understanding the meaning.

TEN: 'You shall not covet your neighbour's house; you shall not covet your neighbour's wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbour's.'

Ok, I don't want any donkey's etc but I have thought I would love my neighbors flower garden. I think I am ok on this one.

Great post, it gets you thinking.

I would rightfully be found in the Lake of Fire if it were not for the shed blood of Jesus Christ. By my study of the Holy Bible I have indeed violated all ten of the commandments. The fourth commandment no longer applies to Christians but in keeping with your question I have violated that as well.

Exodus 20:8
Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

Jesus clearly stated that the whole law was kept by simply observing two commandments.

Luke 10:25-27
And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou? And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.

Remember that the Ten Commandments were given to the Jewish people as were the 600+ laws they were to keep. Having said that, a careful reading of the scripture from Luke above gives us certain liberty and also new restrictions.

I’ve violated this one as well but you left an important part out of it. The commandment wasn’t against making images of heavenly things but was against bowing down and worshiping those created things.

Exodus 20:4-5
Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness [of any thing] that [is] in heaven above, or that [is] in the earth beneath, or that [is] in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God [am] a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth [generation] of them that hate me;

According to my Bible I’ve also committed murder.

1 John 3:15
Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.

And I’ve committed adultery.

Matthew 5:28
But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

So when all is said and done I have indeed broken all ten of the commandments. That’s a harsh reality that brings me back to the mercy seat time and time again.

Outwardley, I am able to follow the commandments, tho too often I fail to follow the first one.

inwardly, in my thoughts, i might as well be breaking all of them. ANd to GOd that is enough to say I have allways been breaking them.

As far as the Levitical laws, those are more cultural and societal laws taht were mainly designed to give the Hebrews a code of coduct, and seperate themselves from everyone else at the time. Heck even jews don't follow all of the Levitical law today. But once Jesus died on the cross and said "It is finished" we were no longer judged by God with those laws, but Judge by our desires to Obey God, and clothing ouselves with the Holy spirit

Machine and Jehosaphat are very right. Anyways, since we have all hated or lusted, we are all guilty of murder and adultery. (well 99% of us)

lol, how hard it is to be righteous, nobody can get to God without Jesus and God is great for giving us that.
