Oh, I don't think that'd be hard to prove. All you have to do is see the connection between Chavez and FARC and there you have it.

Thomas Crowne, I can't FIND any connection between them. An implication by Donald Rumsfeld, that's all! And he's a known liar. This means as much as a Saddam/Al Qaeda link.

Do you have any links or anything? If you really want us to see this scab Chavez for who he is, help us out here.

As far as lobbing mortar rounds into anywhere, a church, a XXX theater or at homosexuals or at Pat, or Hugo, NONE of it is ok. I'm sorry Thomas Crowne, but I don't get your point. Who is lobbing mortar rounds?

Ok, let's look at it in a way that maybe some would understand

How I would understand is if you posted some kind of indication or better yet, proof that Chavez is supporting a terrorist organization. Something other than confusing analogies that don't really make sense to me. I'm sure it's my ignorance, but I'm doing my best to deny it.

And even if he does support terrorism (which I have no reason to believe... yet) that's no reason for Pat to GO ON NATIONAL TV and provoke him by calling for his head! Like someone said, that kind of thing really needs to be discussed behind closed doors. All Pat's done now is given Hugo some ammunition.

If Chavez was REALLY a threat to us, I'd be all for doing something about it. But if he's not a threat to us, we have more important things on our plate right now than to save the world from every bad guy (if he is a bad guy). We cannot save the world unless we save ourselves first.

p.s. Al, you'll be a full blown 4-star Heretic in no time!

The only threat that Chavez is to the US is not to us personaly but the oil barons that he kicked out of his country when he took over the government and turned his natural resources national.

They are the ones that want Chavez head off, occurs they wanted Saddam head off too . . . they got their wish.

Mission: YEEEEEHAAAAAW

Can Willie Nelson play me??????

Whither Chavez needs shootin', as we say down here, is a separate matter to me. The issue is whither our religious leaders should be calling for peoples heads. I don't think Jesus was down for the drive by, if you know what I mean. Billy Graham preached through the MUCH more dangerous times of the cold war and I don't remember hearing him calling for us to kill anyone.

U.S. dismisses call for Chavez's killing:

You know, Sean McCormack calls Robertson just a private citizen, whose words don't mean poopie, apparently trying to calm the ruffles that Pat made. Understandably trying to distance Robertson and his insanity from the opinion of the White House. Who cares what a private citizen says, right?

State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said Tuesday that Robertson has the right of any private citizen to say whatever he wants, but added that the broadcaster's remarks "do not represent the views of the United States."

cnn

I can't help but wonder, though, what if another private citizen, say Michael Moore, called for the head of another country's leader, say, Great Britian. I wonder if this administration would consider it 'just words from a private citizen', nothing to worry about... It's all part of the show, people... Move along - nothing to see here... Somehow, I doubt it.

I'll tell you one thing, Moore wouldn't be making another 9/11 film that's for sure. I thought it strange that they moved in so quickly to clean up the mess Roberston left them instead of letting him stew in his own juices for a bit; then again... the government is experienced with dealing with verbal diarrhrea. Most likely they've all had some drinks and a good laugh over his stupid comments and everyone is cool again.

'Hey y'all did you see Chavez' face when I said that?'
'Yeah Pat, you really punked him good!'

Robertson is a contemptable hypocrite caught out by his own vicious and obviously non-Christian rhetoric.
Certainly he is an example of the deeply weird version of fundy religio-political 'Christian' (in his latest back-tracking apparantly he now says he doesn't want a murder but maybe some kidnapping would be ok.
).

The American propaganda pouring out against Chavez is sad, laughable and rather transparant (as well as lacking in any real evidence - beyond the claims of the US, the US's paid allies and the Venezuelan opposition many in the US want to see back in power).

I have to admit the rolling out of the old 'spheres of influence' tosh takes me right back to those dark cold war days - not that it dawns on those on the US right-wing as to just how alike these kind of arguements are to the type of stuff Stalin used to say about Eastern Europe!

Maybe some cooler heads in the US might see that trying to arrange coups or playing electoral games to alter the democratic wishes of the Venezuelan people or making up stories about how 'threatening' Venezuela is supposed to be these days (hmmmm, who is it that is so heavily involved militarily in Sth America?) are not such a good idea.

Maybe some might actually follow their publicly announced 'values' of belief in democracy, freedom and the rule of law.

Most amusing is the tale now going around that oil prices today are down to Chavez and nothing at all to do with US activities in the M.E!

Very funny that one.

Sad thing is everyone who watches Fox News believe that Anti-Chavez propaganda, just go through the posts/topics, "Chavez is an evil dictator who worships satan and has sex with underage goats!" Uh where did you hear this? "Fox News so it must be true!"

He was elected by a democratic process, more then we can say for Bush in 00, has helped his country by stopping the Big Business, unlike Bush, he has done his best to help his people, sure it is socialism lite, but hey for them it works. It would be like invading and overthrowing say, Italy because he decided he was going to help the poor. The people were happy with him, his country was doing great, but since he wasn't corrupt Bush&Co decide to invade and overthrow him. But as long as certain people watch Fox News Bush&Co would get away with it.
