AD/BC vs BCE/CE

I just heard of BCE/CE and did a search for them:The use of CE and BCE

I was wondering how many people actually use this term - or know about. I know that in everyday conversation, I rarely talk about prehistoric times so I've never really had a chance to use either. But now that I know that there's a secular way of expression that time period, I think I may just come out the blue and start talking about cavemen.

Yes, I'm bored. I'm also a bit curious too.

I use CE and BCE. This is out of respect for all faiths/lack of faith, as well as a recognition that the historicity of Jesus is in serious question.

BC and AD are Latin abreviations that translate roughly to 'before Christ' and 'after Christ'. CE and BCE are English abreviations for 'common era' and 'before common era', though they are also used as 'Christian era' and 'before Christian era'.
