To share my concerns and share what I believe is right. I think it's important for others to be aware that Secret Societies serves no good purpose whatsoever.

Anyways maybe it is just around here they don't have no stupid handshakes since they know who they are. Of course not your basic FM lodge either since it is mainly family, friends of family, and the other 5 families who founded it in 1927.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but what you are describing is not freemasonry. Quite apart from the fact that there are masonic handshakes, it is not comprised of just 5 families and their friends, and it wasn't started in 1927, more like 1717 (formally).

There are groups around who call themselves freemasons but aren't. Perhaps you are referring to one of these?

When you posted the link to the modes of recognition in another thread (that was you, right, or am I mis-remembering?) it had to have been one of the above, either the ATS T&C were broken, or your oath to the fraternity was broken.

The point of all this is that the modes of recognition are hardly a secret for anyone with internet access, so why bother maintaining secrecy? If that's the only secret, and it's not a secret anymore, why not abandon secrecy and all the socio-political baggage that comes with it?

Of course, masonry accepts the inherent secrecy in us all, the secrecy of our true selves. It's one of the founding principles if I'm not mistaken, that no brother knows the true soul of another, and as such, should not judge them.

It seems that there are a lot of contradictions in the obligations of Masons, contradictions that can partly be resolved by renouncing secrecy.

Edit: Indeed it was you that posted that link to the modes of recognition. So was it true or false information you revealed? Is it a case like the MacGyver episodes where he made bombs, minus one critical ingredient? That wouldn't necessarily be false information, and thus, no T&C violation. It would just be incomplete information.

I'm really curious now though, so please don't keep me in suspense.

Trinity I meant the specific lodge was built in 1927, not that FM was created in 1927. They follow Mason rules and all that, teach the symbolism, the history, past members, so forth. Sorry for the confusion on that.

BTW how did that guy get his picture taken? The Lodge I know of does not allow cameras inside...

It may not have been taken inside the temple. Anyway, different jurisdictions have different rules... did you watch the video I posted at the top of the thread?

All I did was post a link to an expose of Freemasonry's modes of recognition. Those images were actually from a book called "Duncan's Masonic Ritual" which is sold in bookstores. Normally I wouldn't have done that, but I had to make a point to TC because I feel that he is above the ignorance he was displaying in that thread.

In any case, the information in that expose is incomplete. Freemasonry's signs and grips are actions and involve movement, which the images are unable to represent. Because of this, one would never be able to learn the modes of recognition simply from that expose. maybe it was done on purpose?

I neither violated the T&C's of ATS, nor my obligation as a Freemason.
