Spanish officials confirmed first troop fatalities in Afghanistan, when a Puma Helicopter Crash killed 17 Spanish Troops in Afganistan.

Seventeen Spanish soldiers serving with Nato forces have been killed in a helicopter crash in Afghanistan, Spanish military sources say.
The Puma helicopter came down near the city of Herat, in western Afghanistan.
Security officials in Afghanistan said two Pumas had collided about 10km (six miles) south of Herat and five people were still missing.

The Cause of the Crash is not Known yet, but the early reports say its an Accident, since no enemy fire was reported.
Rescue teams have been sent to the Location of the Crash.
Spain was sending an extra 500 troops to Afganistan, adding to 500 troops already stationed there to boost security ahead of September Elections.
