Head of firm seeking Ohio contract committed to Bush victory --The head of a company vying to sell voting machines in Ohio told Republicans in a recent fund-raising letter that he is "committed to helping Ohio deliver its electoral votes to the president [sic] next year." The Aug. 14 letter from Walden O'Dell, chief executive of Diebold Inc. - who has become active in the re-s-election effort of Bush - prompted Democrats this week to question the propriety of allowing O'Dell's company to calculate votes in the 2004 presidential election.
......................................................................................
O'Dell attended a strategy pow-wow with wealthy Bush benefactors - known as Rangers and Pioneers - at the president's Crawford, Texas, ranch earlier this month. The next week, he penned invitations to a $1,000-a-plate fund-raiser to benefit the Ohio Republican Party's federal campaign fund - partially benefiting Bush - at his mansion in the Columbus suburb of Upper Arlington."

The list ( updated by the hour ) on how this version of Republicanism will do anything to steal a victory"

- Arkansas project
- WhiteWater
- Starr Investigation
- False Impeachment proceedings
- Florida voter tampering
- Florda voter list tampering
- SOTUS selection
- Military actions time staged to mid term elections
- rampant redistricting on a national scale
- CA Gov. recall
- Voter machine contracts given to Pioneer level supporters

When will the good Republicans that I admire stand up & take back the party? Or, is this the demise of what was once the party of Lincoln - to be nothing more than Tamany Hall & DixieCrat politicians?

I bet you wouldn't bother to post if Walden O'Dell was a democrat.

and, you're really not suggesting Diebold is going to rig the voting machines to re-elect Bush, are you?

....any electronic transaction for any bank or securities firm.......do they ever occur without a papertrail!?! That is a cornerstone of transactional audit; yet the handy dandy touch screen voter kiosks do not generate a papertrail. The software is also proprietary.
Tell me you don't think malfesance under the above scenario is possible?

That scenario is just as likely as Diebold being a 'Clintonista' front - and O'Dell is really a member of the Democratic Socialists Party of America, not a Bush supporter and we'll then see a communist elected, workers will control the production, the proletariat will be rallied, America will be a workers paradise, like Cuba, and Hillary's healthcare plan will be passed by the politburo, and

The technical deficiencies of the proposed electronic voting system for the US were first covered in widespread fashion in New Zealand, of all places.

Links to rigorous research conducted on the criminality (not an overstatement) of this were posted at the top of www.whatreallyhappened.com and remained there until the significant US media took notice.

This whole stink is only coming to the attention of Joe Public (educated version) in the US now. Is it too late though to throw Diebold into the dustbin of failed failsafe corruption, where it belongs?

The paper trail of discussion on this issue is available at ATS, by the way.

Masked has the response covered very well....but Bob, I'm speaking to your logical side ( IT ), not your artistic ( Spinning lovely tales like the above that somehow implicate Clinton as being of the same Bush stripe!
)

You can not tell me that you favor: no papertrail voting and the code that drives it NOT being transparent!?!

that is interesting we dont have electronic voting machines... infact i dont even know if they do over here.. i have never voted ....

i think the system is corrupt and it doesnt count anyway...

but they do not generate a repiect that is interesting i suppose it could be rigged fairly easyily then!!

The stench is getting far, far worse, but hopefully it will be disinfected in reasonably short time with total extermination of this admin and swearing in of the next one, before the election.

Ah face it, Bush is going to "win" the election whether or not he actually wins the election.

BT, I agree but where in that article does it state there is no paper trail and mention the code.

Because, when the dems cry recount I am wondering how they'll get one.

I can see the headlines:
Bush smashes Dean in landslide victory, Dean insists on recount. Kerry still boasting his Vietnam service record

...that's why legislators from all over the country are trying to stop the 'fix' before it gets put in....because that would be the only possible scenario for a Bush landslide!

It's not mentioned in that article, but on several of the threads reference sources on these boards. Hell, I posted on it in 2002!

Yet another rigged election? Should i even bother showing up at the polls this year?

Yes, I shall, seeing how it doesnt matter, I vote third party anyways!

Clinton is of the same strip as Bush, Bout Time. A different shade with diferent motives, but still, I was temporarily relieved to be out of Clintons bootheel after 8 years.

Only to reemerge under Bush's bootheel.

It never seems to matter. One tyrant selling this country oblivion for another.

The actual software routines that enable the corruption have been studied in depth and reported on by Bev Harris.

Most people turn a blind eye to this stuff as it looks rather dry and boring. I never saw your post in 2002 BoutTime but I will see if I can dig it out for a read.

Perhaps people at ATS care less about this because they actually believe their vote makes no difference anyway, I've seen plenty to that effect.

"If voting ever did anything, it would be illegal".

We gte to vote on choice of tyrants, great.

But if the election is rigged, it wont matter anyway. Like last election. The population voted Gore. Is he now our president?

Vote all ou like, everyone should vote. But until people vote intelligently, it wont matter.

I think that in order to vote, people should be required to take a test to measure how well they are informed, how much they understand politics, world affairs, ect.

If they fail, no voting. Idiots should not be allowed to elect who will be in charge of the worlds largest nuclear arsenal.

Skadi

That defies logic.

If idiots can be in charge of the world's largest nuclear arsenal, then why can't idiots vote on who is placed in charge of it?

I was about to refer you to the other topic on the Vote Rigging, which has to do with the machinery...

www.abovetopsecret.com...

and I noticed you posted there.

There are really two software elements to the Bush admin corrupt plan -

"People" software like the arsehole who can't see the conflict of interest in manufacturing the machines and being a vocal supporter of his preferred platform! This thread we're on points to some others of that cesspool.

"Computer" software that mechanically manufactures the result. I'll keep putting those things on that other thread.

Because, masked, if idiots werent voting, idiots wouldnt get elected. Take out idiot voters, u take away idiots getting elected.

I still wanna know, why the # the democrats havent jumped all over this and blasted the media with this? This could be thier chance. They could really smear Bush BAD with this.

So why havent they? They would be the best method of diseminating public knowledge about this.

Whats wrong with the democrats?
