75th/82nd Weaponry

I had a question about the weaponry of the combat soldiers in the 75th Ranger Regiment and the 82nd Airborne(I figured its probably the same). I know that the regular rifle(M4) guys in these units don't carry sidearms but I was wondering if the SAW gunners and/or the officers carry sidearms?

Also I was wondering if the combat soldiers in these units carry grenades and if so smoke or fragmentation? Thanks

Well yes... The soldiers carry the M-16, grenades and sometimes sidearms... A friend of mine served in the 7th special force group wich is a part in the 82nd airborne. He carried the M-16, but the point is still that special-forces carries more heavy, and better weapons...



In this picture you can see the m4 and a soldier in the back row who carries a sidearm...
