Y'all wanna win this war on terror? Heres how to do it:

1) Increase troop strength to 500,000 soldiers...even if it means stripping them from Japan, South Korea and Germany. Go on a 1 year offensive that will knock these Terrorists and kidnappers into the afterlife.

2) Start using heavier firepower and quit worrying about "world opinion" The cut-throats we're fighting only understand superior firepower....why do we force our soldiers to fight them on their terms?

3) Kill all prisoners that are caught red-handed with bomb making materials or are caught shooting at coalition forces....Kill them on the spot and be done with it. That also goes for the Garbage at Guantanamo Bay.

4) Start making Iran, Saudi Arabia and Syria pay a "toll" for allowing these terrorists into Iraq. Heres how it works.....if a theres ANY terror attack ANYWHERE in the world that involves Islam ....than US B-2 Bombers should hit Irans #1 oil pipeline...sink that shiney new Frigate sitting in their harbor....hit that nuclear plant in Iran...blow that Iranian refinery up.......assasinate Royal Saudi family members that are proven to finance terrorism.......Hit the Syrian security forces buildings.....etc etc etc. You see, only when it starts getting expensive and dangerous for the Terror sponsers will they start changing....until than they will continue to finance and support terror.

5) Lock up all the ACLU leadership and have a Grand Jury investigate where their getting their money from. Lock up or DEPORT ANYONE who openly supports the Islamic terrorists until this war is over with. Lock up any newspaper or TV reporter that reports a story that can cause harm to our soldiers in the field (Grab-an-Arab prison scandal and the Koran in the toilet scandal from newsweek etc etc).

Let me finnish with this remark....to win a war you have to be more violent than the people your fighting. In WW II, we gave the Japanese so much violence...they finally gave up. They had their fill of it! ....the Nazis gave up after almost ALL their cities were destroyed and their armies wiped out.

Unless these measure are taken....we may as well bring our boys back home and pull the blankie over our heads.

Sounds like you want to fight a conventional war against an unconventional opponent. In a traditional war America is the best...nobody can carpet bomb like the U.S. In an unconventional fight any country is going to have problems. Plus we are trying to help the civilians in Iraq not kill them. Not knowing if the person walking down the street is a terrorist or civilian complicates things.

And that would be smart piss off every country in the Middle east so we can fight an unconventional 4 front war.

The Iran leadership is happy with their Iraqi Shiite counterpart (installed with the US help), and they just had a massive summit meeting where a lot of deals were signed. Iran has a keen interest to preserve the newly achieved Shiite rule in Iraq. Their wildest dreams came true thank to our tax money. They do not have any interest in overthrowing the Iraqi govt. What Rumsfeld says just shows how willing he is to lie to us.

You are quite incapable to discern the difference between a war on a nation state and a conflict with extremist ideology, which obviously has no fixed place of abode.

#1 The borders MUST be locked down 100%. Nobody in, nobody out. Use as many troops as nessecary to do it. Its not an option if winning is the goal


#2 Dump a couple of hundred thousand troops into Baghdad and lock the place down tighter than my wifes.....er...just lock it down. 100% gun ban, no automobiles allowed near key municipal and public location, etc. Impose a 9 pm curfew, shoot to kill . Get all infrastructure up and running 100% under absolute iron rule. Get the ISF up to strength ASAP while the city is under complete control. You cannot win in Iraq unless Baghdad is in order

#3 Rinse and repeat until most large cities are completely rebuilt and under ISF control

#4 Get the troops out of there. We need to prepare them for Iran after all...

Flood terrorits areas with TVs and satalitte dishes. Program lots of porn, cartoons and pro western propaganda.

These two things will bring down Islam the same way it has most Christian nations.

For every bomb the US drops on a Muslim country, Iran, Syria or Saudi Arabia will blow up a US oil refinery, a US oil tanker or even just a gas station or two somewhere in the US.

The only problem I see with your plan is taking down organizations like the ACLU.

Taking out the ACLU would really damage our freedoms more than the Terrorists have.

We here in the States must have the right to Freedom of Speech, even though organizations like the ACLU take things to the egde of the constitution where the founding fathers never intended freedoms of speech to go.

We must still have an open opportunity to discuss any topic at anytime freely and without fear of prosecution.

I do not agree with the ACLU, but they still have the right to be heard.

It seems some people have forgotten the lessons of history.

In America's most pointless and savage war "Vietnam" US forces through everything at the Viet Cong (a massively out gunned opponent), including chemical weapons. With this tactic of total aggression what was the result?

Complete failure and the needless loss of many lives.

I am not sure what the answer is to the Iraqi problem but maybe American forces should look at how the British are coping in the south of the country. Where there appears to be less "insurgent" activity (I may be wrong). The British army after all has been engaged in this type of combat for many years in Northern Ireland.
