A small victory for Mahmoud Abbas indeed. If Hamas wasnt on side for the pullout it could of jeapordized the entire Israeli pullout. It shows Abbas
is committed to reining in the militants and the basic fact that Israel feels Abbas is capable, and deserving, of controlling Gaza is a major accolade
and vote of confidence in him.
