Pentagon before 9/11

This picture was taken four days before 9/11. Funnt how it shows some strange markings on the same path the plan took.

What exactly is that that the black oval is pointing out?

Is it a camera lens glitch? or dead grass?

Take a picture of any field and you can find "strange markings" if you want to. Just looks like dead grass to me.

I tend to agree that it's just dead grass but I seem to remember seeing airial shots post 9/11 that said that these same marks where made by the plane.

Looks more like camera lens glare than dead grass. I dont think its anything really to be concerned about, coincidence at best. Unless there is more information about this picture, who took it, whats going on on the ground, ect.

I interpret aerial photos as part of my job... I would say that looks like dead grass or "ground scarring" of some kind... Obviously a disturbance in the ground... could be a path over the grass for ground vehicles, or a shallow buried underground line.

Now I do see 2 larger brighter spots at both ends of the disturbance which are interesting, and not consistent with any of the possibilities I quoted... I would like to see evidence that this IS the exact same route the plane took into the pentagon though...

Do you have any post 9/11 pictures of the Pentagon for comparison?

Can't really tell, as the grass is gone from that side of the Pentagon by 9/12.

Hard to tell for sure, the impact point in the building is pretty damn close... but cannot tell angle of impact...

You can see quite similar blank grass spots on other places, short cuts and so on
