I have always found that a machete is very useful, and it has a longer range ,and it is hard to mis-place too.
I have a partiality for swords too,but they need too much maintenance which detracts from their utiliy.
THWACK......................THUD.

Gaz,

I have an original Wilkinson Sword..sword commemorating the Wedding of Lady Dianna Spencer to Prince Charles.. It's a wonderful piece of craftmanship.. I used that one to cut my wedding cake....Worth a bit nowadays mind you....

I am most partial to short swards. Claymores and broadswords are not my forte to clunky and clumsy. You know the saying: One dagger at dusk is worth a thousand swords at dawn
