I don't think US troops are worried about "Juba" (or whoever) as they are IEDs.

From what I understand, to catch a sniper you use a sniper. Or plural; snipers!

"Big-foot Juba" (or whoever) is probably going to draw the attention of several
counter-sniper teams. Maybe he'll get his own personal Predator and Hellfire! Don't forget about that.

As always y'r Canadian friend,

I remember back when this thread was up. and there was wide spread
belief that the US was losing, and that it could not prevail. Time passes
and lo and behold the enemy sniper did not have any significant effect
on US moral. The US saw it through, and saw Iraq become a democracy,
and as George Bush said, "We will stand down when Iraq stands up.".
Now Iraq is standing tall, and US troops are scheduled to leave soon.
Who's sniping prevailed? Ours, of course, deal with it all you anti US
posters of that day gone by. Welcome to 2011, with the seed of
democracy planted, in the Islamic world with Iraq, Egypt is now
demanding freedom, and Algeria is sceduling demonstrations on the
18th. Yes, this sniper really did not sap too much morale did he?
Not even in the Islamic world where we see the Islamic who
support the west now starting to prevail. How much longer is Iran
going to keep its boot on the head of its citizens? The morale
seems to be fading more in the jihadist area than it is in the pro
western area.

I'm not sure what plan you speak of.

Are you talking about This plan?

About 27 People Killed In Iraq Suicide Bombing
2/12/2011 10:38 AM ET

About 27 people were killed and 24 wounded in a suicide bombing attack on a bus carrying Shia pilgrims in Iraq on Saturday.

Women and children were reportedly among the injured.

Or maybe it was this plan?

Iraq car bomb kills nine Shiite pilgrims
(AFP) – 4 days ago

A car bomb ripped through a Shiite Muslim procession just north of Baghdad on Thursday killing at least nine pilgrims, a provincial spokesman said.

Another 39 were wounded in the attack, which struck at 1:30 pm (1030 GMT) on the outskirts of the mostly Shiite town of Dujail in Salaheddin province. Among the dead and wounded were women and children.

I'm sorry, surely you were speaking of this plan!!

Iraq car bombing kills 48
January 28, 2011

Reporting from Baghdad — At least 48 people were killed Thursday when a car bomb exploded next to a funeral tent in a Shiite Muslim neighborhood of Baghdad, police said, as a fresh wave of violence continued in Iraq.

The explosion was the fifth major attack in the last 10 days, leaving a death toll of nearly 200 people.

You know, you are right: You gotta just love it when a plan comes together.

And Iraq lived happily ever after...

AH thats right, you probably have no idea of the plan. I put it
up a long time ago about 2005, telling how the Iraq war would play out.
As it happens, it has played out very well in accord with that
plan, thank you for asking.

The part you are probably missing is that the US had to get
the Islamic to fighting each other. This seems to have worked
pretty well, as shown by your posts. You see if we could get
them to fighting amongst themselves they would forget about
us. As I said, don't you just love it, when a plan comes together?

Um, we won't be out of Iraq for another 50 years, if ever. They changed moved the PMCs from the DoD to the State Department and called them diplomats to fool you. There are close to as many troops there now as there have ever been. A million lives lost. Trillions of dollars. Hardly seems worth it.

A million lives lost. Trillions of dollars.

A million lives lost, well good thing less that 6000 of them were US.
KInd of shows you how one sided this war was, doesn't it? LIke I said,
don't you just love it when a plan comes together? Most successful war
we ever fought from this loss of life standpoint.

Trillions of dollars? With 100,000 troops there we would have had
to spend 10 million on each troop to spend even one trillion and you
say trillions spent. How many trillion? Could you be a little more exact?
