A man convicted in a number of the so-called Bird Road Rapes has been set free after 25 years in prison based on DNA evidence.

DNA evidence from two of the rapes excluded Luis Diaz as the attacker, casting doubt on whether he was responsible for any of the assaults.
The judge vacated five rape convictions against Diaz and dismissed any remaining charges against him. The judge's ruling came on a motion filed by
State Attorney Katharine Fernandez-Rundle and lawyers for the Innocence Project, a non-profit organization that pushes for DNA exonerations.

How long do we have to wait before DNA is collected from everyone and anytime a crime is commited all the suspects are compared to this database? I
know that some people are against this type of database, but it seems that the good would outway any potential drawbacks.
