x-prize replacement

Topic started on 3-8-2005 @ 04:30 AM by paperplane_uk

I remember reading a while ago about a new prize being offered for the first private organisation to make it to 'real' space (as opposed to a sub orbital flight e.g. SS1). Does anyone know what it was called and what is happening with it?

Is this what your asking about?

"SpaceShipOne won the $10 million Ansari X Prize on October 4, 2004, completing the required second suborbital flight within two weeks carrying the weight equivalent of three human adults to outer space."
