Here is a piece of western "support" for Russias anti-terror war:

"The only reasonable conclusion that can be reached from reading the article below is that one of Britain's leading newspapers openly supports terrorism. It willingly serves as a vehicle for advancement of twisted points of view in support of terrorists who took lives of thousands of Russian soldiers and civilians since 1994 and who are now set on taking lives of British soldiers in Afghanistan."

Compare this with the US attacks on Afghanistan. Both wars started as anti-terrorist operations and then escalated. Russia too thought that the Chechens would give up and go home faced with overwhelming air superiority. The Chechen fighters had a motley collection of rusting tanks, anti-aircraft guns, a few rockets and what they could capture - or more often buy - off Russian troops.

[Comments: This brings tears to my eyes: those poor Chechen farmers and householders armed with just tanks, rockets and anti-aircraft guns... ]

Maybe the best yet..
