Funny thing happens to me sometime, very rarely, but happens. Sometimes just before I go to sleep or sleep, I begin to hear my thoughts aloud and can hear songs. Today, I was extremely knackered, so went to sleep during the day too , and something quite weird happen, just before I went to sleep. I can only describe it as a radio tuning into different frequencies, I went into this very altered state of mind, and I could hear my mind tuning into different frequencies and then I could make out I was receiving some kind of message. I got a bit scared and snapped out of it.

Now this got me wondering, is this how psychics receive their information, like suddenly their mind starts tuning like a radio into something? If I have this ability of clairaudience, how can I control it and develop it?

Not really sure, I've got sudden thoughts before, like a preminition that turn out to be true or close to true, only happened a few times, usually i feel in a state of relaxtion. Which is rare as with my work im ofetn stressed, but if I feel very relaxed I usually pick up on some things. It kind of does feel like its thrown out you. If that makes sense?

From my reading on AP, OOBE and so on.. Some people have exsperianced what sounded to be a radio, which in fact was an actual radio..

It could have been you tuning onto some radio station or something. I am just guessing since I do not know you personally.

in my experience....i did not, at the time, realize that i was in an "Altered State Of Mind".
but yes, a...; "stream of thought/telepathic message/a parable story"
came into my consciousness...
perhaps we are conditioned to think of these occurrances
as inspirations, fantasies, maybe even day-dreaming,
or other 'acceptable' experiences in our rational living.

On occassion i have followed the parade of whimsical characters and animals which appear in the dusky lighting at twilight, bedtime hour,
at the intersection of my bedroom ceiling & walls...
the narrow 6-8 inch perimeter band above my bed
where the light & dark give way to ones' imaginings
or else, the forms created because of the eyes are taxed to their limit...
visualizing into other dimensions or just discerning the figures which were
hidden by the glare of the previously, brightly lit air molecules, of daytime!

In my own 'quiet times', i 'hear' or 'know' 'realize' these incoming messages.
your world view accounts these as akin to tuning into radio stations...in other words,
a broadcast from somewhere.
You seem unsure if this is 'internal dialog' because the words & message is
so dissimmilar from your recognized 'conscious', 'inner voice'...
the content of the radio broadcast seems to be from a higher plane or intelligence, at least your rational mind tells you so.

What you describe Indigo is one way but there are many others.

The first step if you wished to develop this into whatever it might become would be to rid yourself of your fear of it. It is quite natural to fear that which we do not understand but it can be overcome.

The way I generally describe this process is that you have to 'push' back with emotions that you generate intentionally. On a daily basis you have to tell yourself that you will not be afraid of it. There is no magic that can instantly remove the fear but with effort, over time, you can condition yourself not to react this way.

Here is one of the most basic of techniques, but one that if you stick with it can help you to change any aspect of yourself that you focus on. Take a small piece of paper and write a positive statement that expresses what you wish to change. It should be specific, but as short as possible. Tape it to your bathroom mirror. Every day, when you get up, look at that paper and read it out loud. It is very important that you speak the words and not just look at them.

How long it takes to achieve results is based on how strong what you are attempting to overcome is, and how serious you are about making the change. You can lie to your rational mind but not to your true deeper self. It might take a week, or a month, or a year. But if you stick with it, I know from experience both with myself and many others that eventually it will become a part of you.

A little reading on the subject would not hurt either, as would talking to other people who have found their own ways to do what you are attempting to do. Don't get hung up on the mechanism, and ignore anyone who says 'This is the only way to...'.

Fear can sometimes be a way to protect ourselves from something that is dangerous. Most often the reverse is true, that which we fear is of the utmost importance and must be explored if we are to continue to grow. There is nothing dangerous about what you describe so I can only assume that somehow it is important that you explore what it might mean.

the state i call commercial head lol is when your ultimately relaxed just on the verge of looseing conciousness. its also i think the state they do past life regressions in. ive actually been practiceing trying to extened it as long as possible and maintained it for 6 hours once and felt fully refreshed upon standing up lol. i hate to condone drug use but if you have your own perscription of some sort of opiate in small doses it helps to extened the clarity and ease to reach this state. but with practyice it can be done naturally just as easily

searchengine hypnagogic state and search for phosphenes as well thats pretty interesting

I do also believe that it could be all of the explanations above...another thing it could be--(the radio sounds)...happens to me sometimes when I'm tired...your brain isn't quite processing subtle noises from refridgerators, water heater, fans, etc., and separates the sounds into different simultaneous high frequency sounding noises-which seems life static-y radio sounds including voices and music. It's rather interesting actually. Also, I hear my thoughts alot... Just a thought. But it does show how we can tune into things and almost meditate and get something great from it--insite if you will.

Yes. Just as we are not alone in the physical world, neither are we alone in the psychic or meta-physical world. I read in another thread on cell towers and mind control there is some evidence to suggest humans with certain sensitivities can receive and interpret radio signals under specific conditions similar to what has been described above.

Imo, we all have the (largely unrealized) capacity to send and/or receive mental or psychic signals similar to radio signals containing information and images, and we do it all the time. Self interest and focus on the moment and the mundane 'tunes' most of it out most of the time for most of us.

Those who have these certain sensitivities and wish to explore them can develop a capacity to 'tune' their psychic or meta-physical attention to tap into eternal thought streams of intrinsic knowledge sensed by all but known intimately by very few either brave or depraved souls. There is no in-between.

I don't advocate any kind of drug use to induce the state required to 'tap' into these 'thought streams'. An incredibly strong sense of self and complete personal integrity are essential pre-requisites for any foray into this world. One can easily become consumed by the allure and illusion of being able to manipulate the knowledge revealed for personal gain and the control of others. This is a deadly mistake, and can end up costing one's soul.

Its interesting to note that I came to this forum today specifically looking for a thread by you, Indigo Child. I don't know why, but for some reason it was important for me to find this thread and respond to it. I haven't seen any of your stuff for a while, and haven't posted much lately, but felt compelled to post this. I'm very impressed by St. Udio's reply, as well.

I sincerely have no desire to detract from the impact of your experiences, but I thought I would throw in this little suggestion. As part of my lucid dream training (and also to relieve boredom - damn you insomnia ) I often create elaborate scenes in my imagination just before I slip into sleep proper.

Sometimes when I am in a truly deep, hypnogogic state I find that the border between reality and my constructed fantasy begins to gel and I begin to accept aspects of the fantasy as real (like in a dream when you just know, for no particular reason, that you are a fighter pilot over the British Channel in WW2 or that you have to get away from the dark thing in the hallway because it wants to harm you). Sometimes during this state, where I am not quite fully asleep, I find myself jarred back into waking consciousness.

Is it possible that you are experiencing something similar - a blending of reality and dreams, or an overflow, if you like, of your dream state into your waking state? Just a thought, given that you say this happens when you are near sleep or have just fallen asleep and that you "snap out of it".

BTW, am I the only one who feels embarrassed when I wake with a start from a hypnogogic state? You know, when you look over at your partner to see if they noticed. What's up with that? Oh, and if it is just me, I won't be offended if you maintain eye contact yet back away slowly.

I believe I have experienced something similar to what you are discussing, but probably has been a while now. It was during a state not quite fully asleep, and certainly not fully awake. At a point where the suroundings are still to some degree apparent, and a stream of what was obviously radio talk streamed in somehow. If I remember it was talking, not music, and determined to be radio by a station ID being heard, or something like that. I would then awake and know it wasn't coming locally because I didn't have a radio on and there was no one around to cause the sound. This has happened on more than one occasion.

I am new to all this paranormal type stuff, so at the time I just wrote it off to something I may have been dreaming, or to my wacked out brain playing tricks on me again, but your post certainly rings true to something I have certainly experienced.

I personally believe in alternate states of consciousness, or levels of consciousness, and now believe, after having experienced some of the things I have experienced in the past while now, that this is either some type of telepathic transfer from another individual what they are listening to, or you are able to tap into and listen to a radio frequency/broadcast.

does anyone happen to know what those electircle noises that include an almost falling sensation as they zap within your mind even if in a dead quiet room? they seem to come in a certain pattern and go down in octaves/tones as you drift further twards sleep.
