Has anyone heard the news?
Bush is proposing to pass a tranportation bill which will give the go-ahead for a $223 million bridge to be built. The bridge is as long as the Golden Gate and higher than the Brookly Bridge, yet would only be built to connect the airport of Gravina Island (Population 50) to the town of Ketchiakn (Population 8,900).
The current trasportaiton system is a 10-minute ferry ride which has been working for years, so why bother changing it?
Not even why bother changing it but why bother spending $223 million on it which could be used for much more needed causes.

I imagine that about $3 million of that bridges money will go toward meaningless beracracy and be funneled improperly by contractors and then congressmen will be able to receive bigger payment by the special interest and lobby groups.
