LOL... cool down guys ..i love aviation and have the greatest respect for Israel.

If looks could kill, i can understand you but in war looks are of the last priority.
And the Israeli systems are some of the most lethal and most effective things out there....and there is no dearth of evidence of how Israel has won wars against the odds with its fantastic weaponry.

I stumbled upon an israeli website and that's the only reason i found and posted those pics

This thread is not intended to hurt any nation or any individual and is just a not-so-serious one.

Infact i've posted a few Indian aircrafts too if you take a look.

Looks have nothing to do with effectiveness...and are subjective

I think the LCA looks better than the FC-1..

Its not that bad really.. Even if I look at it from an unbiased perspective

Well with the Vulcan and now the LCA in this thread I just can't figure out what some people class as ugly? Especially with such aeronautical dogs as the Transavia Airtruck to pick from.

I like India a lot actually. And its just my personal opinion, of course its biased

Well everybody has an opinion and looks are subjective, but to my eyes the LCA dose'nt deserve to be in this thread.

Sure its not the best looking airplane but its not bad as well. The paint scheme of the prototypes is not the best, but the production ones will feature a better paint scheme.

Just out of curiosity, why did you post the isreali F-4 Phantom in there?

Sure it's not the prettiest in the bunch, but I always thought it was a nice looking aircraft for its time period.

Nono.. I wasn't saying your opinion was biased.. I was saying that MINE would be in the acse of any Indian achievement.. But still even if I try to look at it from a 3rd person point of view it seems to be an okay design..

I dont know where to find pictures, but in World War 2 Russia tried to turn T-34 tanks into aircraft so they could more easily drop them where they were needed, with paratroopers and such. now THAT was an ugly aircraft, i saw about it on a TV show though and dont know where i would find a picture


needless to say it dropped like a rock.

Maybe it really looks ugly, but it can transport 150 tons of cargo with range of 5000 km. It is thermobaloon called Rossija. It uses engines and cabin from Mil Mi-2.

How could anyone say the F-4 was ugly? Sure it wasn't PRETTY, but it just had style. One of the former PACAF Commanders flying on in Vietnam managed to bend the wings. (No, not the prebent wingtips, the wings.)

Vulcan...those lines, that shape...such grace...Vulcan is to ugly as Hilary Duff is to credibility.

Form may be to function, but that don't make it pretty! Although the US in the fifties and sixties definitely gave us some of the least attractive planes out there, let's not forget all those who were trying (or even acheived) to get airborne in the first decade of the last century. Not to mention some of the German prototypes built during the first world war, not the least the "transparant" plane.
