Eyewitnesses report that they saw a UFO hovering above the exploded reactor.

Seventeen odd years have passed since the disaster at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant on April 26, 1986. The explosion happened at 1:23 a.m. Tons of radioactive products were emitted into the atmosphere. The machine shop of the plant was gripped with fire, and the fire was about to move on to the third power-generating unit of the plant. Firemen managed to extinguish the fire several hours later. Many of them died later of radiation exposure.

Much has been written about the Chernobyl disaster, both in Russia and abroad. It seems that the physical nature of the tragedy has determined, as well as the people who were responsible for it. The fourth power-generating unit was supposed to be repaired. Yet, before shutting it down, the administration of the plant decided to perform several experiments. Steam delivery was cut to one of the turbo generators in order to discover the period of time that electric power would still be generated due to the rotation of the rotor. The experiment was not well-organised. There was another test conducted simultaneously: the study of turbine vibration.

They started decreasing the capacity of the generating unit at 1 a.m. on April 25. The emergency cooling system of the reactor was shut down at 2 p.m. This was supposed to stop the reactor.

However, the Kievenergo energy company did not know anything about these tests. An energy control officer did not allow the fourth generating unit of the plant to be stopped. These were the prerequisites of the tragedy. Many people are still suffering.

The explosion was very large, but, luckily, it was a thermal blast. The fourth power generating unit was basically destroyed by overheated steam. There was no nuclear explosion. Roughly 180 tons of enriched uranium were in the reactor. If a large blast had happened, half of Europe would not currently be depicted on any maps.

There are many theories to explain such luck. One of the theories is that there was help from an Unidentified Flying Object. When troublesome events started to occur, some people saw a spaceship hovering above the fourth generating unit of the Chernobyl plant. Eyewitnesses say that a UFO was there for six hours and that hundreds of people saw it. People started writing about it only two years after the catastrophe. Of course, such information appeared in magazines on ufology. As it is generally believed, serious people dont read such magazines and journals.

Here is what Mikhail Varitsky had to say: I and other people from my team went to the site of the blast at night. We saw a ball of fire, and it was slowly flying in the sky. I think the ball was six or eight meters in diameter. Then, we saw two rays of crimson light stretching towards the fourth unit. The object was some 300 meters from the reactor. The event lasted for about three minutes. The lights of the object went out and it flew away in the north-westerly direction. The UFO brought the radiation level down. The level was decreased almost four times. This probably prevented a nuclear blast.

Three years later (on September 16, 1989), the fourth power-generating unit emitted radiation into the atmosphere. Several hours later, a doctor saw an object in the sky above the Chernobyl plant. Doctor Gospina described it as amber-like. She said she could see the top and the bottom of it as well.

In October of 1990, a reporter from the newspaper the Echo of Chernobyl , V. Navran, was photographing the machine shop of the Chernobyl plant. I photographed the top of it, including a part of the hole above. I remember everything very well; I did not see any UFO. However, when I developed the film, I clearly saw an object that was hovering above the hole in the roof. The object looked like the one doctor Gospina saw.

It seems that aliens are not worried with the fate of humanity. They are basically worried about the planets environment.

The reports of this UFO case were published by Pravda online.

Jeez, how many events are going to be attributed to UFO's? What's next, UFO's toppled the Baath party?

However, if you're right, it's a comforting thought.

Thanx Clive. Never heard about the UFO "leeching" rads out of the disaster. Was the globe/sphere/craft orange with a notch out of it's perimeter?

One of my friend's Dad was sent to Chernobyl as an advisor for AECL (Atonic Energy Canada) in '87 and '88.... I'd chatted with him about this many times and he hasn't mentioned anything about the UFO stuff and he had access to many of the accident documentation silos that are in several languages. He still rants about "idiots" with breeder reactors.

Next time I'm out in Pickering I'll ask him about this and see if he's heard anything similar. Got any links to more stuff like this Clive? Please u2u me.

Thanx,

Victor K.

Wheres the photographs? No evidence at all?
Witnesses probably died already from beiing exposed to radiation so thats no good to us aswell.
I gues we can only gues as to what may have happened.

I agree with Zzub, taking into consideration the possibility of this being true, it would be comforting, depending on which way you look at it

If you were withing decent visual range of the reactor you probably died when the reactor blew. As I recall did it not have the force of a nuclear blast? I mean it covered 1/4 the country in radioactive materials. there is also a 30km restricted zone around the original blast area. I don't think anything stopped it at all....

If the blast would have been 2 km in the air it would have wiped out a lot more. Because the blast was on the ground is the reason why it wasn't as bad. If anyone was around that plant within 10 to 20 km im sure the would have died pretty quickly. It was an accisent that resulted from crumby Russian nuclear technology that caused the uranium to hit critical mass and it can happen again and i am sure it will.

the biggest problem IMHO with these post hoc " interventionalist aliens , angels , gods < sic>" etal . is firstly :

why didnt they pre emptivly intervene to stop / prevent the disaster entirely ???

secondly , why does the results of thier alleged " saving intervention " appear indistinguisable from naturalistic models of what should have happened

and , just to appear totally ungratefull -- why did the lazy bastards feck off after only 1/2 a job ????? -- i have freinds who farm sheep in the cheviots [ northern england ] -- and they are still feeling the effects of the fall out that reached them in 86 to 88

why is there never emperical evidence of this miraculous " magic " intervention ???

i am sorry -- i just dont buy this crap , why cannot people just accept that crap happens -- and that we have to take responsibility for our actions and mistakes

the "answer to " chenobyl , is quite simple

wisahfull hoping that " sky daddies " will come and clean our poop for us , is unhelpful .

and quite frankly dammed insulting to the memories of the soviet emergency personel who against all self preservation instinct walked into the hellstrom , time and time again -- untill they died .

they were the heroes of they day -- anf they where what saved the day -- not your wishey washey faries in " glowing balls "

please remember that next time disaster strikes you or your loved ones -- dont ring 999 / 911 or other emergency services numbers -- dont put the fire crew / coast guard / police et etc at risk to come and save you -- just sit back and wait for the space daddies to come and save you -- you do believe in them dont you

put YOUR ass on the line one day -- to show us that you believe in thise inrerventionalist aliens ,,, i dare you

rant over -- ape out

In rsponse to ignorant_ape comments on why didnt they intervene to stop the distaster, maybe if we believe the UFO theory that they wanted to make us learn a lesson, but stop it before it went too far. Certainly people changed attitudes over nuclear power afterwards.

Also to pick at the comment on next time disaster strikes dont call 999/911 normally although these events are devesating to immediate family and possibly neighbours, they rarely pose a global disaster like chenobyl did

Hey guys. And Hello thread starter.

I am sorry to inform you on this but, no UFO was present at Chernobyl. I was born in Israel and moved to Kiev, Russia in 1984. I lived in Kiev for 4 years and when Chernobyl happened I was moved away by my family immediatly. I came to the US in 1989 at the age of 7.

I know a lot about this topic. My father holds an equivalant to a PhD in Electricity. He was the chief electrical engineer for the Chernobyl plant the day it exploded. After reading this thread I immediatly called my father and sent him a link to this thread.

To say the least he was very angry
. The massive amounts of lives that were lost and the contamination world wide was so horrific it is evident to this day. Do not attribute every worldly event to UFOs. No UFOs were present that day and I am not a man that believes in god but, that day I prayed for him to save my life and the lives of my family.

That was a direct quote of what my father just said to me. Thread starter, I know that you meant nothing by your thread but, only to have a good conversation. No offense though, many lives were touched by this event. Personally, I lost many family. And as a little boy I will never meet them. Maybe such topics as 9/11 and Chernobyl should not be discussed unless of course you know excatly what your talking about. My dad was at the point of tears after reading the posts. He said that if anyone of you were there you would never bring up this topic.

You guys need to understand one thing. Chernobyl was the worst chemical explotion of the modern world. The radiation was so bad and so concentrated that it reached the shores of Eastern United States(Philadelphia, New York, Rhode Island etc..) The places around Chernobyl are to this day dead. No vegetation, hardly any animals.

The children that are being born today in and around that region have gruesome abnormalities. And even people in region that are hundreds of miles away have paid a price as well.

I was in Kiev when Chernobyl happened. I was moved to St. Pettersburg that same day and stayed in doors for 2 weeks, finally coming to the US in a direct flight. I have lost the majority of my hair and doctors have told me that the radiation from Chernobyl casued it. I have liver problems and can not have a regular Xray unless a specialist clears me. I have to live my whole life with this and I was only exposed for 15 days.

I am sorry for the long post. Chernobyl caused grief, death, pain and anguish to so many people, I just don't think that it should be discussed in anyway but, in ways to prevent this from happening. When talking about such events bad feelings are brought back and the pain of losing family and friends comes back. My father was very upset after reading this and not because it was brought up but, of the stupidity of the thread. Yet again, no offense thread starter, or anyone that posted.

My father knew many people that worked in and around Chernobyl, and NO ONE witnessed any UFOs, NO ONE saw anything, but, they all prayed to GOD no matter what religion they were.

I hope you guys can understand why I had to write so much. Maybe I am venting, maybe I am trying to get a point across. But, in any case, please take my words with some grain of respect. Maybe talking about Chernobyl in such ways is not the best thing.

Thank you for your time and thank you for reading this.
I am ready for all the bashing on my character and self integrity.

read a lot off happenings after the disaster,

not only russia got affected but the whole off europe got affected with radiation..

imagine this is only 1 plant , and can do this amount off damage
even today the plant is still unsafe to go near

and the surrounding towns are still ghost towns .........and high with radiation levels
still...

read this www.kiddofspeed.com...
