I have recently taken an interest in astronomy. I bought a 60mm refractor, which is just as good as a good pair of binoculars but it was all i could afford.

But I was able to find Mars, and think I could see a hint of white near the bottom of the planet. Last night for the first time I found Saturn just by star hopping and I was able to see the rings.

There is a group of stars called Plaiedas and I found it but it was so high up i couldn't really get to it so I will need to go out earlier.

There is one thing I have not been able to find but you are supposed to be able to see it. The Andromeda Galaxy. I have consulted my star chart, have searched and searched. It is very dark out here and the stars and night sky are beatuiful.

Anyone know why I can't find it, and know of any good stuff I can see with a small telescope such as this one?
